Is that a joke? Do they know anything about hockey?

You're a piece of work. The analysts are 100% right. MSL signed a contract with Tampa, period.

How would you feel if Lundqvist was demanding a trade and holding the Rangers hostage by only allowing the destination to be one team? You'd want the Rangers to ask for the moon.

Whats worse is how captivated the Rangers are with the situation

Lolwut? Is Pierre on drugs? Must be the really hard kind that **** with your brain.

It really is what Yzerman should do.

So he can go back to his pouting player and say he tried.

Does ANYBODY have the ability to look at this situation from Tampa's perspective?

I think MSL himself knows that Yzerman is not getting McD back for him.

I'm just scared that Sather makes a panic trade.

Well I'll say one thing. The trade centre folks must be ECSTATIC that this is an Olympic year. They are probably finally going to have a huge trade day.

So this is shaping up more and more like the Nash situation. Rangers put all of their focus on one star player who has control over his destiny, and wants to come to NY. Wonder what he'll do when Yzerman holds out to the draft, and one of Sather's main pieces (assuming Callahan is involved) is totally worthless to Tampa.

If Stepan is included in that panic trade I would be okay with it. He has regressed too much IMO.

He has regressed too much? He's on pace for the exact same amount of points as he had his last full season. Last season was a small sample. Has ha taken the next step that way we hoped he woujld have? Not yet. But he really hasn't regressed. And he's 23.....

EXACTLY why I am pissed off this morning.

Like moths to a flame, the Rangers are always captivated by the big ticket splash.

The farm system stinks. The prospects of winning a Stanley Cup this year? Not good. How are we not spinning off expiring contracts for futures? How is the team hooked on a 38 year old player?

Short terms moves, good or bad, coupled with long term mediocre moves means no getting better to the point of real contention.

If it's either we resign him or we trade him for nothing, give me the latter.

We could also keep him this year and let him walk though

It's not keep him vs. "get something for him"

Keeping him for a playoff run has value.

Keeping him for a playoff run and then seeing if there is a team who might want trade a pick for his rights so they can try to sign him prior to 7/1 has value.

Keeping him for a playoff run and maybe he comes down from his demands and re-signs at a more reasonable price tag has value.

The "bag of pucks" arguments is just silly and short-sighted.

Because hockey's different here.

I hope this is all one big joke. Everything involving the Rangers so far has irritated me this deadline.
