Where is the myth coming from abt Kesler.

Hes missed 1 game this year and aside from last season less than 10 combined the prior three

Kesler is better than Stepan.

Stepan does not make his linemates better.

How much superior is Kesler defensively over Stepan? I ask this because Kesler hasn't been more productive since Stepan's rookie year. That was a long time ago.

Stepan's a solid young player but he leeches off of Nash who completely carries that line offensively. I'll take Stepan's point totals with a grain of salt.

Stepan has out produced Kesler over the last 3 season's. .69PPG. How many season's has he been leetching off of Nash again?

Right... :dunce:

Again, last 3 season:

Stepan: .69PPG
Kesler: .65PPG

Kesler has 2 years left on his contract. He'll be a month away from 32 as an UFA. What kind of salary is he going to command in 2+ more years? 8M?!

Stepan's a controllable asset. He's had a crappy year but he's been a good Ranger. Even if he never develops into a legit 1C, he's a guy you can depend on to center your second line. A second line that you can put out in any situation with his solid defensive play.

one can only imagine the animosity directed at cally if hes resigned to a 6/6 deal.

talk about a messed up situation.

guy better score 4 goals his first game.

Is it unthinkable that Sather might consider a deal involving Zucc + picks for St. Louis ? Essentially trading for a potential crown prince and future prospects while dealing away a player that has 2~ years left on top

Zuccarello is a bright spot this team has stumbled across ... he's a poor mans St. Louis ... NO WAY he gets moved unless its for a young cost controlled center (with offensive production) OR a PMD with a very high ceiling. Zuccarello means a lot to this team especially moving fwd.

Yeah, Kesler missed almost the whole season last year, but where is this ïnjury prone stuff coming from?.. because of one season? other than last season, he played 82 games 3 years in a row then 77, has played 62 this year.. its important to deal with facts guys.

You guys are WAY too hard on Steapn. He's having a mediocre year this year (agreed) but before that all his numbers were trending upwards each season ... that is a GOOD THING.

Thank you. We should not be trading Stepan for the Keslers and Jordan Staals of the world. If a young guy like Seguin comes up on the trading block, then yeah, go for it. Not interested in trading Stepan for players who are worse offensively.

He's had two hip surgeries. Only person under 80 to do that.

31, pls. This joke has already been used. You are no longer HFNYR's funniest poster.

he's on my **** list.. so I'm impartial right now..

though I actually defended him last night.

The length of this Cally saga stinks. Are they still working on a deal? I'd love to be a fly on the wall in Cally's agent's office. Or glen's.

why the hell would the Blackhawks want anything to do with Callahan?

Just thinking out loud, but to answer the ?,

1. They can afford the splurge.
2 Main competitors are Ducks/Blues. Also if Kings go cold to hot overnight they are scary. So to get one more proverbial bullet in the chamber....

I'm not saying we should trade him for Kesler but people are sooo point happy in here. Stepan had one really great year, last year, and don't kid yourself, it had a lot to do with Nash. There's a big reason why Kesler started over Stepan in the Olympics, he's certainly a better player now and he's better at putting the puck in the back of the net.

http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/05/25/ryan-keslers-agent-fires-back-at-canucks-coach-alain-vigneault/

In 2011-12, Kesler didn't play well because of his shoulder. AV came out and said that the injury wasn't the reason for his poor play, and his agent was all like: "NUH-UH, HE WAS REALLY INJURED GUISE".

Injuries can be bad, even if you don't miss the games. I'm sure you can remember Gaborik's shoulder injury late the same year.

You guys also have to take into account that Stepan put up that season last year with Torts as his coach in a system that's more made for him IMO.. IMO I'm worried if he has the skating, the playmaking ability, or the finishing ability he showed at times last season to play in this system.
