Yeah must be it…I don’t wanna see them win the Cup
well, I showed Habs sucked for the last 7 years, and your awnser suggest you dont mind it... as long as they don't do it on purpose or something.

maybe they should re-sign Chiarot if possible this summer, find a Weber replacement and hope Price is top shape cause we're going all in'...

or maybe we don't really pick a direction and hope we'll be lucky enough to get back to the SCF again eventually.

Careful, he's so smart about hockey that if you don't type entire paragraphs of nonsense he can't find an angle.

I would keep some vets. According to who wants to stay. Gallagher is one I would like to stay. A lot of heart there. Rubs off on young players. When they see leadership like that.

I think one reason teams like Sabres, Oilers, Leafs, Coyotes took 10-12 years to rebuild is they traded away veteran leaders. I would trade half our veterans but not all.

Lately, his lack of skill is rubbing off onto his teamates :D

Isn’t Gallagher on the record as saying he wouldn’t be interested in sticking around for a rebuild, saying he wants to win? I may be wrong, but I thought he had something along those lines.
Gally, the heart and soul playoff warrior who disappears completely when the game gets tough. A real winner lmao.

But but but.. This time around my thumb was itchy so i wasn't really 100%

His performance in last years playoffs, was not very good, but pretty sure he played most of the playoffs injured.
He is a heart and soul kind of guy, but someone gave him a contract that does not match his aging body and lack of production....he should probably be traded.....not easy to say, but it's true.

I would be blown away if Gallagher returned anything even remotely as valuable is Podkolzin. His contract is probably the worst on the team. I predict a cap dump and 3rd or maybe a 2nd if you can create a "bidding war." I also think it would not be smart to retain for the next 5 years.

With the contacts we have this not keeping vets is not a problem.

Hossa, Seabrook, Progner, Datsuyk, Gaborik, Horton there been plenty of guy that have been traded while on LTIR, some team might want to reach the floor, some team might want to manipulate there cap space, maybe Nasville want to make sure he doesn't retire and stay on LTIR... You won't get much but in return but we have no reason to keep him...

Doesn't really matter, he signed the contract. If the offers for him on the table aren't helping us, then Mister Gallagher will have to work his magic to make us win during a rebuild. The same applies for Price, Petry, Chiarot, etc..

I would not be surprised especial if there is contrat coming back but I don't see a team like Vancouver making that move maybe more team like Vegas, Anahiem, Colorado, Toronto, Florida, team that are closer or still in their cup window...

Wrong.
Predators would be very wise to deal for him, because if he decides to retire, it will cost them an outrageous $$$$ penalty
And it would cost Weber an outrageous $$$$ loss of salary.

He won't be traded for that kind of return. They'll keep him on the line up or, at worst they'll bury him in the AHL.

the last years of his contract are just at 3 to 1 m$ per season. With all the money he has gained, it won't be a drama in his life

why do people keep talking about this cap recapture bs. Nothing will come of it. We arent blackmailing the Preds into some massive return. Weber will spend the rest of his contract on LTIR and at best, some team will trade for his LTIR contract , similar to Horton, Hossa, etc.

No professional NHL executive in any position of power would blackmail another team like that, that is a sure fire way to get blacklisted by every other NHL team GM.

This is not some wonderland here. lol

Last CBA extension, the recapture penalty can now be spread over several seasons. It isn't as doomy as it used to be.

They are still on the hook for ±24M$ it is just going to be over ±3 years regardless of how many years was left on the contract, 7.8M$ for 3 years isn't as bad as 24M$ for 1 season but 7.8M$ of dead space isn't great either, but there was no way he was retiring early, +there will always be a capfloor team willing to acquire that contrat so NSH never really had to worry about the cap recapture anyway.
