Hopefully some discussions are taking place around Zegras, and Hughes' offer is lower than what he wants so he wanted to get his eyes on what's being offered to see if he can be convinced...

Anderson, Ylonen, Dvorak, Evans, Savard, Kovacevic... Some kind of package from those pieces + flames 1st & ?
Anaheim won't want any of those players. There is no match. They don't need d and Habs don't have any forwards of interest that they would trade. Newhook or Dach and 1st.

Main board thinks that we believe every vet we have is worth a 1st rounder. I feel like we only say that during the highs of a player. For instance, Monahan last year was playing superb hockey so we all thought he could potentially get a 1st if he keeps it up then went down with an injury long term with not date on when he was back so we all figured he wouldn't but main board seems to think we still believed he would. Same thing with Edmundson, guy really declined hard and was injury prone since our finals run so yes we figured he wouldn't net a 1st.
There’s some Habs fans on the main board that make the most ridiculous proposals that when level headed posters go to discuss anything there we all get lumped in with the crack pots, that’s why I stay away.

Truth! I read things on the main from posters that seem to be Habs fans but I haven't seen them post here and most of it is ridiculous.

Main board, is beyond absurd
There is almost zero chance of having a normal discussion with anyone.
Habs haters are beyond dumb...

Habs fans should test their proposals on this forum first. Even if we slap them around some, it’ll be nowhere as embarrassing as doing it on the Maim board as a first run.

If we could get a prospect like Leonard for Matheson (would be a nice fit in WAS), it would set our offense (considering a top 8 pick this year). Maybe even add a Monahan (as well as taking on Mantha).
Any time as a rebuilding team you can get a great prospect for a vet, you have to do it.

Pacioretty for Suzuki was a great trade. I doubt the caps would give up Leonard. With Ovi seeming to be approaching a declining state, I would think the caps are seeing they'll be rebuilding soon. But Leonard is the kind of prospect we should be jumping at the opportunity to add.

I was sure that we were going to see a Raanta+ for Allen as soon as Raanta had clear waivers…
We'd have to take back more salary than that to move Allen for something positive.

Would we try and sign Toffoli this off season. He's on pace for his second straight 35 goal season. We need goals! Plus he liked playing in Montreal.

Sounds like Martin Necas is a poor fit in Carolina and fans aren't excited about committing to his next contract. Expectations are that there may be issues resigning him as an RFA and a trade may be on the table. Doesn't fit Brind'Amour's dump/grind system very well and he has yet to be given a shot at C - despite stating his desire to do so.

Carolina needs top line players, are desperate for a goalie, and lack grit/physicality. This was meant to be a big year for them and there could be a lot of turnover this offseason.

Any thoughts on offers for Necas?
maybe this.
To Carolina: John Gibson and Benoît Groulx

To Anaheim:Martin Necas and Jake Allen
To Montreal: Anti Raanta and 4 th rond pick from Anaheim
