They have 7.25M available next year + the 10.5M of LTIR from Price's contract.
Oh, you counting Price's 10 million. We still have to be cap compliant by opening night though.

Cgy GM Conroy said that Flames were offered first round picks for Tanev but they preferred the Russian kid from the Stars org.
Good to know. Market is thin on right shot defensemen. Habs should get premium value for Savard

That’s the thing as many analytics types are pointing out teams like the Canes don’t need a G to “run with”, they only need one to help stabilize in a tandem situation, and Allen behind strong back checking fwd group like Car has, will not face anywhere near the same level of odd man rushes and D zone entries, thus more insulated

Even if someone goes the unconventional route and subscribe to a 2 goalie system for cup purposes, Allen is not showing anything to make anyone believe that he will hold up his end of the bargain.

Agree and it's not a matter of salary, even with 50% retention, nobody would beleive he could help a team in PO. He had some talent a year ago but it's all gone today.

I have a gut feeling that Jake evans will be traded for a surprising decent return .
He is cheap , young and good penalty killer and I feel they been showcasing him quite a bit lately and talking him up.
This management unlike the previous fools , know how to increase the value of their assets
I don’t think he’ll get much. Hughes isn’t going to negotiate hard. The three goalie situation here is untenable.

Lol jesus. I do think he's more valuable than Monahan, but I think a 1st is fair. That being said with how bad the defense is and Guhle needing to play on his offside in a shutdown role, I get not wanting to trade him.
If it’s not a first, it’s really not worth trading him. Without him it would be even uglier back there. You need some veteran presence.

A first thought? We’d have to do it.

I wouldn't trade him. At some point, this team will need experienced players for the young players to learn from. He's having a positive impact on Xhekaj. I feel this is more valuable than another Mesar.

If they are offered a 2nd he should be gone. This season is done, a vet UFA can be signed in July.

His value won’t be any better next year, move him along.

Jake Allen has no value. He's a giveaway at this point.

Why would anyone have confidence to make their playoff push for a guy who is playing like a #3 in a 3 goalie carousel.
Yeah, he lost value quickly. He has been good these last few years for us, and even did altight in some games at the start pf the season , but his last 3-4 starts have not looked good. Hughes was show casing him amd he played his worst games in recent memory.

I wouldn’t. We’re at the point already where we should probably start packaging players together for better picks or moving up in the draft.

Savard has value in that he takes heat off the younger guys and adds a bit of stability. If a team wants to pony up a first I’d do it but I wouldn’t do it for less.

They would be nuts to turn down a second, he isn’t that good. The D core can manage the remaining 20 games. Easily replaceable with a 1yr UFA next summer.

Next trade deadline they would be lucky to even get a 2nd.

Just don’t see the value other posters do.

Why, he’s nothing special. Totally replaceable.

If Hugo turned down a 2nd for Savard that’s bad asset management.
A late 2nd is worth nothing. He can always be trade at the next deadline.
And it is IRRELEVAT howo good he is. It only matters what other GM's see in him and how many d become available before the 8th.
