Lol...yes and just recently former Nashville GM said he regrets trading for Subban.
==========

Turns out, David Poile, the man who made more trades than any general manager in NHL history, has some regret about what was arguably his biggest trade.

The trade heard around the NHL world on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, the one that sent Nashville Predators captain Shea Weber to the Montreal Canadiens straight-up for P.K. Subban, is the one that had Poile reflecting Thursday.

The former Predators general manager told 102.5-FM's Robby Stanley and Joe Rexrode on "Robby & Rexrode" that he wishes the swap of defensemen never happened.
Makes sense, Poile wasn't long dumping Subban.

Forgive me if this has already been posted.
I forgive you, my son:

in nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti

And just in case you're a member of that breakaway sect :)sarcasm:), I'll give you my blessing in Greek:

εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ Υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ Ἁγίου Πνεύματος

(IMPORTANT NOTE. Hi, guys, I'm Habs Icing's daughter. I know you guys have put up with a lot of his insane posts. As you can see in this post he believes he is a Catholic priest who can also dispense Greek Orthodox blessings. Well, it's gotten worse. I just wanted to let you know my father is in a sanitarium. He now believes he is Jesus Christ. Please, don't humour him. The doctor says it will only exacerbate his condition. Thank you for your cooperation.)

Dvorak be on LTIR next year. no doubt. He always injured
I think Dvorak to Chicago is a possibility. They have plenty of cap space and could use an experienced center to take draws and play some D for one season. Don't expect a return.

Meanwhile, if we put Dvo, Wideman, and Dach on LTIR this year, we will have well over $12M of cap space to take on dumps for this year, een if we save nothing on a Pearson deal.

Another Bergevin masterclass...

Edit: The 1st we gave up was the one used to draft Connor Geekie right? Plus a 2nd in this upcoming draft.

BargainBin's legacy lives on....Anderson, Dvo, Armia and Gallagher are costly blunders. Price even more, but they can dump him on LTIR. Savard, at least, serves as a mentor to the youngsters. As for Allen, both HuGo and BargainBin extended him. That's roughly 30 mil spent on these guys a yr. They won't be here in 3 yrs, so patience is key.

That's not how it works. You'd get a million ish in relief but then you have to fill up that roster spot.
The point is not having to fill the roster spot with another goalie, so it's still a logical alternative. That's the buyout figure for Allen in June:

That wasn't what OP said, he talked about waivers, not buying out Allen.

Yeah, you have to waive in order to buy out IIRC. So we would be able to spare more than simply hiding the contract in the AHL which is 950k spared? With the buyout we're sparing 1.5 mil and then we get a dead cap of 700k on the second year.

The worst part is everyone and their grandmother knew those were horrendous contracts the minute they were signed

Everyone that is except Bozovin and his cheerleaders

I know we would not have drafted Slafkovsky if MB did not screw up big-time, but imagine:

2021 Habs playing like crap, MB trades Gallagher for a 1st instead of extending, Tatar for another first. Armia could have fetched at least a 3rd but say we didn't cuz we foresaw he would help in the PO.

Extends Danault for $5.5M, does need to spend the 1st and 2nd on Dvorak. Does not sign Hoffman, and then KH does not have to trade Toffoli. MB extends Lehkonen instead of Armia for similar money.

We have
Danault, Toffoli, Lehkonen, $3 M more in cap space, and two more first round picks
instead of
Dvorak, Gallagher, Armia, Barron

The only problem with this fantastic scenario is that we would not have had Tyler Pitlick and Largesson for two months.

Master Class Honorable mention:
Treliving for how he handled Monahan, Kadri and Huberdeau. Canada's richest franchise was super impressed.

Then we could play devils advocate and say we still draft Slafkovsky and possibly Cooley. I'm so glad we're rid of that clown.

Wave him and then buy him out. However... if anyone should be the focus of buyout is Gallagher. Allen may still be traded... somehow... i don't know know how. But even Bergevin isn't that stupid to take on Gallagher now, even though he gave him that contract to begin with.

Haltunnen is garbage compare to Newhook.
Thank you for that extensive detailed analyzes. A couple of people I know go to some London games and they like what they see. He's having a very good season and did pretty good at the WJC and he's only 18 and his first season playing in North America. I'm not the type to label such a young player, I find that that is premature and can make you look foolish down the road, so we'll have to wait a few more years to see what he looks like when and if he makes it to the NHL. Till then, adieu.

Lol you mean Florian Xhekaj?
Yeah we actually got him in the 4th round same draft actually.
Shut the barndoor! Seriously? I was sure that when I see Florian play and check hockey websites he shoots left and plays left wing or center, and he's actually a right shot shooting right winger just like Kasper Halttunen?????!!!!, f*** me do I ever feel like and idiot, and f*** those imbeciles that update those websites. Thank you pointing this out and will get all over those idiots to make the proper changes.

Yikes no, Gallagher buyout in June:

Lots of dead cap years, one at 4 mil... Buying out players in their last year of contract is easier, and perhaps some team will want to claim Allen full salary, same for Armia. We don't really need to buy them out, since we're not against the cap by any means, but in Allen's case it's really because we need to end the goaltender carousel.

Also Dvorak should just get a buy out.

Dvorak has disappointed offensively but Bergevin had the right idea at the time. Evans was the second line center at that point. He couldn't go into the season with Suzuki on an island.
That was his doing by losing both Kotkaniemi and Danault. He panicked because he had screwed himself and every team in the league knew it. To say he over paid for a guy that had never shown much promise is an overstatement.

We shouldn't worry about Allen. The TDL is approaching and a lot of teams wanting to go deep in the playoffs are gonna panic and try getting a goalie(which is what MB should have done the year Kreider injured Price).
