As previous poster said. This is the yesr we see how much Gallagher regressed . Was it the injuries and short offseason that exasperated the decline? Or hé actually is on a free fall .
I don’t know what to think on that matter . Facts say he declined but I also remember times when perry was Thought to be washed up and then he started going season after season of very solid play

I'm confident Gallagher goes back to 20+ goals and 40+ pts next season. He likely will not be worth his contract in any of the remaining years, but he should still be a good player in the next few seasons.

and finished dead last 10 months after

got it.
You mean in the season where we lost over 700 man games, also known as an NHL record?

Even with Ducharme, with a semi-healthy team, we are nowhere near talking about Wright or Slafkovsky.

We'll see about Gallagher.....he'll always be overpaid cause it was an overpayment since day 1 no matter what but he was playing hurt and he was also heavily frustrated.

No one wanted to play for Ducharme, he was also pissed to be pushed on the 3rd line to start the year.....all the tweets he made about referee calling off goals, it showed.

14 points in 29 games when MSL took off.
But only 3 goals and normally Gallagher scores more goals than he have assists.

And there's that 3.9% for shot %

That's what tell me that something was probably wrong physically cause that's just horrible, almost impossible. Guys like Armia or Poehling are at 10%.....even Edmundson and Savard are around 8%.

The season before, Gallagher was at 13.2%
During the playoff it drop also to precisely 3.9%

He was playing with a tear in his hip in the PO...mentioned that same injury at end of the year......
Yeah, we will know pretty quickly if Gallagher is actually done. But my guess is he's his normal 50-point self, if he's healthy.

The guy he was traded for can’t even play
During the five years they both played post-trade, each went to one final, and Weber was better 3 years, Subban once by a lot, and one year was a wash.

Then for the 6th year post-trade, Weber was on LTIR, and Subban had negative value with a 9 million cap hit.

Four Final years of Weber's contract are traded with no sweetener sent, and we got an asset that can be flipped at the deadline.

Yeah, but he got us to Finals. With Subban we been gone in first round
Subban never would’ve lasted the entirety of his contract here regardless. I imagine he would’ve been traded sometime between 2017-2019 if he wasn’t traded when he was. Especially with Bergevin here. The timing of the trade ended up being smart with hindsight. The problem is the fact he was traded for a win now player that set us back 5 years.

Don't you come in here with facts and common sense, it has no place in this thread.
