The article mentions the Rangers would be looking for a young C. How about Jake Evans & Cam Hillis for Lundqvist

Jan Mysak would make sense and he's the type of player that Drury seem to like

I don't follow the Habs prospects very closely but between Mysak and Kidney which player would you guys who are more familiar with both rather keep if one needed to go in a Lundkvist trade?

So it seems like a 4 year extension would take him right to UFA so the Habs would likely prefer it be a 3 year deal instead or at least I'd hope so.

I haven't checked the CBA, but it sounds like because Dach got injured in the lead up to the WJC and he wasn't on Chicago's roster, Dach's 2020-2021 season doesn't account as part of the 27 or 7 seasons UFA eligibility rule. So he would be a RFA after that deal ends.

If that's the case then yeah the 4 year deal looks okay to me. I just can't see the Habs signing Dach to a contract that walks him right to UFA.

I'm open with trading both but I would keep Kidney before Mysak. That being said, I think Mysak fit more with what the Rangers want.

Thanks.. Just don't trade Beck like was brought up earlier. That guy looks like he's gonna be a pretty good player plus if they moved him it would probably greatly upset that Habs scout who would've pounded the table for Beck at pick 26. Luckily for that scout the Habs got him @ pick 33 instead. :)

Yet he's only ranked the 10th best prospect on these boards!:madfire::banghead::eviltongu:rant:

I'd be reluctant to move either one of them. Mysak was captain of his WJC Czech team and scored over a point per game. He also led Hamilton to the OHL championship and memorial cup. Kidney was also impressive with a 100 points at Acadie playing as an 18 year old all season (late March bday). He also made Canada's WJC team but played very limited role.

I think we have too many established players so that's why I was suggesting Evans and a weaker prospect like Hillis (3rd round pick in 2018)

You would've also given up Florida's 2023 1st plus Struble or Norlinder for him so maybe you might also overrate him a bit. :dunno:
Yeah, he was highly regarded just a few months ago. It’a funny how quickly things change.

I will be pissed if we don’t end up getting him. He is exactly what we need. He has second pair, PP1 upside that he is likely to reach. I don’t know if Kidney will even become an NHL player with his lack of size and speed. Mysak might be a decent bottom 6 player. Lundkvist is a far superior prospect compared to them.

It’s nuts. People are valuing potential middle 6 players, which we have a ton of, over a top 4 PP QB RHD that is ready for NHL time NOW and would fit our D squad like a glove immediately. Is this real life?
Which he doesn't currently seem to be. If he was that he'd be getting much more playing time with the NYR and likely wouldn't be seeking to move on for a better NHL opportunity. If you had said that he was a "potential" top 4 PP QB RHD then I'd agree but he doesn't seem to be there yet and may never be.

Beck might be our best or at least top 3 center prospect at the moment. He’s 1-2 with Mesar and I’d have him higher than Mysak. Far from 8-9th best center prospect.

Kidney has the higher ceiling, but I think he's the riskier of the two. He's very slender which makes me wonder if he can gain the necessary strength/weight to be effective at the NHL level. He has the better offensive game of the two. Could end up being a middle 6 forward if he can handle the physicality of the NHL.

Mysak has the higher probability of having an NHL career. Lots of intangibles, but most likely ends up being a bottom 6 forward. Solid at everything, but not great at anything type.
