Which he doesn't currently seem to be. If he was that he'd be getting much more playing time with the NYR and likely wouldn't be seeking to move on for a better NHL opportunity. If you had said that he was a "potential" top 4 PP QB RHD then I'd agree but he doesn't seem to be there yet and may never be.
Doesnt seem to be based on what? The fact he cant crack the rangers lineup? Have you seen their D-core? Barron wouldnt crack it either. Also, my post above that one said this was his upside.

So what. I still wouldn't trade Beck and hopefully many more on this board agree with me.
Think we have our lines crossed, I was saying that Beck is better then where he was placed in that ranking and was mad that he was 10th.

He lost a Season but has such great fundamentals that he definitely is a 3C. I stated before that he might be a Anthony Cirelli type player with a Ceiling of Bo Horvat.

I'm sure the Habs will contact the NYR about Lundkvist since he would fill a need for the Habs and also the Gorton/Bobrov connection but I would absolutely not trade that Florida 2023 1st round pick for him. The Habs should be trying to add even more 1st round picks for the very good upcoming 2023 draft and shouldn't be trading one away.

Not sure what the Habs can trade for him though but I wouldn't think any of the recent 2022 picks like Mesar, Beck or Hutson would be involved but maybe one of the MB/Timmins era prospects minus Guhle could be used maybe. :dunno:
MYSAK and a 3rd round pick for LUNDQVIST.

Mysak plays C and projects to be a 3rd line C, perhaps. He's a Plekanec type of player and has gained traction with his International play of late.

folks I suggested Dvorak for Lunqvist at the start of summer and was quickly told to GTFO of here and stop being ridiculous.
Well technically it still is bad as the Rangers aren't getting any cap relief in such a trade and would be over the cap ceiling. If you can find a player on the rangers that you would take back for to provide cap room that the Rangers would actually agree to then you are better then me, I just don't see it.

The player that the Rangers would want to get rid of would Be Goodrows $3,641,667 x5 and I don't see the habs wanting to touch that with a 10 foot pole. Oh also he has a M-NTC.🤷‍♂️

You could offer Dvorak at 50% to make it close but taking a $2,2250 Cap hit for three season woul also suck.

I’ve read somewhere that the Kings are just loaded with RHDs. Sounds like a plausible trading partner.

What do they need?
After some serious research....Or spewing here the first name that came to my head. They need a Drouin. Sorry King's fans who may read this. My research beats any kicking and screaming, whiny complaints you may have against my conclusions. :D

I don't follow the Habs prospects very closely but between Mysak and Kidney which player would you guys who are more familiar with both rather keep if one needed to go in a Lundkvist trade?

I would rather keep Kidney since he has the higher potential. Mysak is likely to end up a middle-6 player at best, and we have a bunch of prospects who could become that (Heineman, Ylonen, RHP, Smilanic, etc.). Kidney has top 6 center potential and he's only one of two in our prospect pool (Beck being the other).

Jake Evans for Nils Lundvist.

I like Evans but A: we have wayy too many bodies and B: Lundvist has a higher upside in a position of need.

My question is Nils good enough to be a PP QB on a top team? Or at least is he near reaching that potential? Otherwise, we should not have interest.

If the answer is yes I would gladly send a Mysak or Kidney NYR' s way.

If he was currently good enough to be a PP QB on a top team, do you think you would get him for Mysak or Kidney? Seriously?
How about you ask yourself, are Mysak or Kidney close to being top 6 players on a top team?

I disagree. Nils has reportedly asked for a trade. That's an asset for NYR that will decrease in value in time with no playing time. He isn'T good enough to crack their top 3 RDs, hence the thread...

In other words, NYR are trading at a position of weakness thanks to Nils' agent.

Mysak COULD become a middle six forward, sure. A role player for another. There is no guarantee Nils is a top PP guy either...

Lundkvist will never play with the NYR they have Fox, Trouba and Schneider in front of him. He might be better than all our RD propect except Baron but he isn’t a proven to be a sure fire top 4D… I wouldn’t give a first for him right now. the NYR are like looking for immediate help now that they have sign Trocheck they are probably looking vet LD or mid 6 winger to add more offense. We have Edmundson but Dadonov, Drouin and Hoffman are likeliest target.

Seriously why the excitement for an offensive defenseman who has yet to produce actual offense? Can't believe the suggestions people are throwing out here to acquire a player most consider a bust, besides half the Ranger fanbase. Too bad HuGo traded the only center I would have given up for him, late first round bust Poehling for late first round bust Lundqvist. All these other suggestions are way too much for a 22 year old undersized defenseman who has shown nothing until now. Keep the assets and sign a Stralman or Subban for a year if it really is a need for a veteran RD in a tank year.
