Hope Hughes is on this.

He wants to play in a place he has a shot to play QB on the PP.....and we desperately need a D able to do exactly that.......the real question is what's the price?

Shouldn't be that high, shouldn't be trash either.....very hard to tell but we do have a whole bunch of prospect on LD, wouldn't mind trading one for him.

I don't think that's what NYR are looking for.
They would probably prefer something closer to the NHL and with more certainty, they are going for it, they don't need a pick.

Picks can still be quite valuable for the Rangers as assets to give up at the TDL to fill out their roster.

Apparently, NYR fans are saying a middle 6 forward is trying to crack the lineup in a similar situation to Lundkvist... I'm wondering if Ylonen fits the bill. They don't really need anything else.

Maybe a 2nd and Ylo gets it done?

Pick will be useful at the TDL when they will search for depth players.

Considering the Habs would 100% protect that pick and most likely top 15, it might not guarantee NYR a pick to trade at TDL and from the article, it seems like they want something similar to Lundkvist in return.

I'm sure the Habs will contact the NYR about Lundkvist since he would fill a need for the Habs and also the Gorton/Bobrov connection but I would absolutely not trade that Florida 2023 1st round pick for him. The Habs should be trying to add even more 1st round picks for the very good upcoming 2023 draft and shouldn't be trading one away.

Not sure what the Habs can trade for him though but I wouldn't think any of the recent 2022 picks like Mesar, Beck or Hutson would be involved but maybe one of the MB/Timmins era prospects minus Guhle could be used maybe. :dunno:

NYR fans on the main board seem to be interested in Riley Kidney, I would be ready to do that. Jan Mysak could make sense too since they are looking for C/LD. We could add Struble in any deal if they like him too.

Kidney would hurt but you have to give something to get something. I'd be willing to take the bet that Lundkvist will be a better pro, it's a risk but it's not a ridiculous one.

The other offers they were okay with were
-Habs 2nd round pick 2023
or
-Owen Beck

Obviously I think that most Habs fans would choose the Kidney trade over the others.

Lundkvist would be higher on RD pool then Ridley is on our C pool for sure.

Even the 2nd round pick, I would probably do it.

I'd have ZERO interest in trading Beck or any of the picks in the first 2 rounds of the upcoming 2023 draft. If it's for a body part like a Kidney or Mysak, or someone like Ylonen maybe then yeah but no Beck or the Habs 2023 2nd going the other way for me sorry.

I should add that if the Habs could acquire a later 2nd round pick to flip for Lundkvist then maybe I'd move that 2nd but not the Habs own 2nd rounder which should be a high 2nd.

So you're saying the Habs likely wouldn't offer an arm or a leg for Lundkvist but could maybe offer another body part like a Kidney or Mysak for him. :DD

I'll see myself out now. :)
