Bergenheim has 12 goals and 17 points in 23 career playoff games. I really think he could make us instantly better. And if it wouldn't work out i believe his contract is up july 1. Could something like Bussieres and a 3rd be overpayment? Not if he contributes well, i suppose.....I'm just thinking were really missing some depth up front and it showed last night.

Over payment. You also have to wonder why he is being scratched by a team making a playoff push.

Wonder if Loui Eriksson is being looked at....not a UFA but only one more year on a 4.5 million cap hit. Might be someone they're taking a look at.

Or Chara. He is not the same player he was but he is everything the Wild lack on the blueline. Spurgeon would be so happy.

I would say that Boston would never trade him, but moving him would solve all their cap issues and allow the team to move forward. He could even resign back with them to end his career.

He would cost maybe Olofsson, but I don't think much more given his age and contract. We would have to send Backstrom the other way.

I wish Fletcher could pivot away from Pominville/Vanek and towards Eric and Jordan Staal. Around the same cap hits, with the Staals having a bit more value.

But the Staals would provide a ton more of what this team is lacking.

I'm not sure that 6 years of Jordan Staal is worth the $6 million a year and from what I've seen Eric Staal doesn't seem as good this year as he used to.

If its just not ment to be for us this year (hopefully it is) and we fall short, makes me wonder what kind of return we could potentially get for Vanek & Poms to a contender, maybe in a package too?

Vanek and Pominville are 2nd and 3rd in points thay are not the ones who would be getting traded.

That would be a shrewd buy low deal, if they'd be interested in b-level prospects and lower round picks.

Wouldn't give up crown jewels for him though.

BTW, does Schroeder eliminate the "need" for a forward - he has the speed & skillz for sure.

I would love this

I usually have both the Wild game and the Isles game whenever they are playing, (its nice to watch a bunch of Minnesota kids doing well) and the way they use him is mind blowing to me. The kid has 34 points as a 3rd line center and now last night he was demoted to the 4th line centering Matt Martin and Colin McDonald.. Weird way to show confidence in your young players, all while when he was doing very well at the start of the year he was still centering the 3rd line while Lee was playing with Tavares and Strome was playing on the 2nd line, while he was outproducing both. He could come here and play 2C and potentially be the number 1 guy we are looking for for our future. Hopefully he gets to UFA status as soon as possible!

A place.
All I can say is I sincerely hope GMCF resists the temptation to make ANOTHER blockbuster because of the recent losses of Zucker and Spurgeon.

I say shore up the PK with a 3rd or 4th line PK specialist. Just someone reliable in the defensive zone so we can send Veilieux back down to Iowa.

Spend nothing valuable at the deadline. I'd like to see this roster win or lose on it's own merits with nothing more than a token addition of someone like another Carter.

That said, if he can somehow totally fleece someone, Garth Snow style, all bets are off.

Shore up the 100 percent pk? Shouldn't Carter be back soon.

Phil Kessel, Korbinan Holzer, 3rd pick to LA for Jeff Carter, Jake Muzzin, conditional 4th round pick

Condition being if LA finishes higher than a wild card spot it's a third round pick
