I think in terms of grit, while yes some here do want full out punches and brawls and huge hits, I think most want this kind of play.

This was Acciari's first goal as a Leaf. It was an ugly rebound at the top of the crease. This is what a lot of game-winners look like in the playoffs. And there just haven't been enough of these whether from our core or depth players. It was the first thought that popped into my head when that goal went in.

One of these goals goes in vs. Montreal or Tampa late in the series, well this team would have had some rounds won under their belt.

We need to see these types of goals whether from Acciari or Kampf or Engvall or Marner or Matthews.

I would like to see the leafs secure a dman but am unconvinced they can get an adequate one that is better than what they have for the cap they have left
That said, I think they should trade for James Riemer as an adequate option in net.

I dont like either Kerfoot or Engvall, but Kerfoot at least plays like he cares and has drive.

Engvall to me just doesn't care. He doesn't have the passion or drive. He has zero compete level. Engvall is sorely out there trying to score goals and thats it.

Engvall has to go. It's so sad seeing someone his size play the game so soft. You can't win the playoffs with players like Engvall who has zero passion

Dubas is a lame duck GM with an expiring contract in a Burn-the-Boats season where playoff success is almost mandatory to save his job.

With these conditions on the table, nothing is off the table in terms of dealing futures and assets.

Every season since Dubas became GM he has traded Leafs own 1st round pick away, to stock up for the playoffs or simply to get out of cap hell of his own making,

Hang on to your hats because anything is possible,

PS. The only thing I don't think he would do is trade one of the core 4 forwards as that is the hill he is willing to die on to prove everyone wrong that you can win playing those players 1/2 your cap.
