Ideally you move out Engvall and keep Holl (can't believe I said that) as a 7th defender. Kerfoot generally shows up in the playoffs unlike Engvall.

Or you upgrade both Engvall and Kerfoot. But not sure if it would be worth the cost.

I'd love to add JVR for say a 3rd round pick, then see if we can slot him into the top 6 and have ROR drive the 3rd line. Mind you I'd like to see ROR drive the 3rd line anyway, or at least try it ...

That’s the thing, if that Jeannot package was for Kane, we would still think that’s okay and Hawks might can get more.

Even a double retained JVR would require several corresponding moves, which drives up both acquisition cost and the unintended costs of waiving or selling low on current players.

And JVR is not the type of player you do this for.

The Leafs will have to make a trade, or waive 2 players. Woll being demoted means the Leafs need to clear over $1.1 million. So I expect one of Engvall or Kerfoot to be traded.

They might do a gezoalie from vancouver or Arizona. Also some beaut players might come with those. Vancouver has Martin, demko to offer. Arizona has vejmelka and ingram. Both have been solid the whole season with the yotes. Even shutous have been played for these. Suckas.

Exactly. I was on the Sandin trade bandwagon for an upgrade, but that was because I thought it might take that.

Sandin just needs to watch Giordano operate now. Gio is another slow, not particularly big Dman, but he understands exactly how to leverage the talent he has to play a solid D even at his advanced age.

But as it stands right now, his fit even next season becomes awkward unless one of him or McCabe moves over to the right side...unless they intend to spot Giordano a lot of rest next season.
