Yeah I mean it's like nearly everything else in this country... pay to play. If you are shelling out like low seven figures for an apartment the size of a shoebox in a so-so neighborhood while never being able to do anything because you make just enough to exist after bills and rent you probably aren't having a very good time.

If you have nesting doll yacht money you're gonna LOVE NYC!

Yeah I guess I've never really understood how people can make untold amounts of money only to by these like ugly-ass super sized McMansions right on top of a whole neighborhood of other super sized McMansions. Like look at McDavid's gross-ass weirdo house. If I had dumb money like that I'd buy some old castle in the middle of nowhere and hide out the rest of my life haha

Reaves was not what we needed. That’s an example of chasing physicality and not talent.

I’ve never been to NY. Don’t understand why everyone wants to go there. Seems crowded and expensive.
Bigger market and exposure as an athlete.

I could definitely see why Tank wanted to go there and with the Russian connections there.

Kane is from NY and has the obvious connection with Panarin. New York is stacking up for a cup run.

Wouldn't be a bad place for him to request to go.

Other than that you couldn't pay me to live there but would definitely visit for the food and the occasional tourism every so many years.

Kap has value but with the contenders with limited cap space, I have to think Kap will clear and maybe show something at WB to be moved in the off season. In any event even a go to in JImmy R in Vancouver didn't offer. Kap is a disaster and his hockey IQ, his fundamental passes, compete just isn't good now. Hextall knows this team is in trouble and now he has to do something here. He had to know this was a suspect team/roster and Sully was just playing his system that no one could play. Dumo should have been gone after last year as he was really sliding. Only a new GM and coach can give the Pens needed grit, compete and want to.

Been a while since I've done a proposal. Looking forward to the burn.

I trialed this a few minutes ago on the Canucks board. People seemed generally amicable to it except for the retention. Personally I think it's fine and necessary.

Canucks:
Schenn
Boeser (or Garland) 25% retain

Pens:
Kapanen
2nd 2023
2nd 2024

Let me have it!

Did he get picked up already? I assumed there was value in dumping him. Could take Carter instead. Same difference except I think JR like Kapanen more.

They could have gotten him for free, no? I doubt he has any value in a trade. But hey if they wanna slide the Pens Boeser and Schenn for a couple seconds I'm game.

Unfortunately Carter's ironclad contract doesn't allow him to even be put on waivers, Much less be traded.

Still got a whole year on that beaut, too!

Ah I see. Sorry, I meant value to dump the whole contract. Value on your side. I guess I don't value Boeser as much as I should have.

Oh! I'm sorry you're a Nucks fan, I got it.

The Penguins I'm sure would love to dump all of Kap's deal. And JR does have former ties with him. I just doubt Vancouver is interested in that since he's been placed on waivers and is currently a freebie, for all intents and purposes.

Boeser has major warts and his contract is... mehhhhhh. But he has a cannon and this team has finishing problems. Schenn isn't my idea of a great player but due to his good play on a bad team along with his miniscule cap hit, he would likely fetch a 3rd or even 2nd this TDL from some team alone.

So yes I'd say you are underestimating the Canucks's assets a bit. Boeser with 25% retained and Schenn should be something like a low-ish 1st/equivalent or close to that. The Penguins could likely pay two seconds and a prospect not named Pickering. Perhaps a roster player but I have no idea what the Nucks would even want (were I them nothing on this shitberg of a team).

Yeah, Hextall's done after this season, imo. Good riddance. Sully should follow, but he won't. I think in order for Sully to feel any heat, this team probably has to repeat this season's performance for another couple years. But then ownership would just shrug and assume it was the natural end of the era, and Sully couldn't possibly had any effect on things.

The media is turning up the heat on Hextall.

not on Sullivan, sadly. There's a bit of heat there, but not enough

This is why I hope they fire Hextall soon. That way when the team continues to look like ass, I want to see how the media twists it to protect their golden boy when Hextall's no longer around to scapegoat for everything.

You know, I have to wonder, as someone else did in another thread, whether the team is playing this bad deliberately in an effort to get Hextall to act, or get fired…it just seems like the team has made no effort last night and Sullivan doesn’t seem too pissed off about it either…gamesmanship?
