Sullivan should have just fired Hextall himself. After all, he seems to have more power/sway than Hextall, so I just assume he also has the power to let him go.
Sully is letting hextall fall on the sword. Looks like hextall may leave and Sully may stay. Rossi is blaming hextall and exonerating Sully at same time.

This is why I hope they fire Hextall soon. That way when the team continues to look like ass, I want to see how the media twists it to protect their golden boy when Hextall's no longer around to scapegoat for everything.
That would be nice, a sort of “two for the price of one” situation. Hextall goes, team still skids into oblivion and misses the playoffs, and Sullivan spends the last 20 games of the season looking totally hapless. He’s gone in the summer, and we don’t have to endure another lame season with thee same problems next year.

But like BFD says above, no guarantees that ownership doesn’t misattribute the continued slide of the team and look the other way. Sullivan seems totally bulletproof in this org and from the media.

Yeah I don't think Hextall has been great but I'm not sure I want him fired yet. And JR in his final years was as bad or worse
JR was kept as long as he was because he was good at one point as a GM. Hextall has never been good at being an NHL GM, there is no reason to give him anymore time.

Why wouldn’t you want him fired yet? What more does this idiot need to f*** up before you realize he’s trash?

It’s gone on for too long. Move on.

i’ll agree with this only to say i don’t care who gets fired. we’ve all seen the pattern too many times. fire everyone, who cares? if they fire the junior assistant goalie development coach i’ll support it

From what I read doubt if they fire Hextall..

Here is the the only scenario I see Hextall getting fired.... Hextall wants to trade 1rst rounder for Chychrun and Burke says no way.. I would do it myself restart this pile of crap defense over and I would get Barbashev.. if possible..

Bigger market and exposure as an athlete.

I could definitely see why Tank wanted to go there and with the Russian connections there.

Kane is from NY and has the obvious connection with Panarin. New York is stacking up for a cup run.

Wouldn't be a bad place for him to request to go.

Other than that you couldn't pay me to live there but would definitely visit for the food and the occasional tourism every so many years.

Western NY and NYC might as well be different states. To make this comparable, you’re basically saying that someone who grew up in Pittsburgh would want to play for the Flyers since they’re from PA.

That's not what was reported.

The report was Sullivan wants Chychrun and Hextall said no.

I’m okay with that because I know they’re wrong and we’re headed toward a top-10 pick in a really strong draft.
That's the brightside. So dumb they'll luck into it.
Only guy that will probably 100% NHL worthy is Bedard .. the rest are all wait and see..
Better than our current prospects?

Said no to the two 1sts reported as the ask

Which isn't the same as saying no. But yeah it's not a hex vs burke thing, really. It's Sully vs the world

Hextall playing checkers…

At least he was upright and present with the team. I figured he’d be at some 12 year old prospect tournament or cozy in his bed.

Sullivan is a coward that has somehow managed to position himself into a powerful place in a franchise and now bullies everyone involved.

If this was the 1700s I would challenge him to a duel.

They absolutely are sending a message. Kap was the scapegoat the day he was signed.

Why did they choose Kap? They could have done it to McGinn, Heinen, Ruh or about a 5 other names.

Agreed but still same state he was born in and as I already mentioned a team that is obviously going all in and the familiarity and chemistry with Panarin.

Makes a ton of sense.

Reaves was not what we needed. That’s an example of chasing physicality and not talent.

I’ve never been to NY. Don’t understand why everyone wants to go there. Seems crowded and expensive.

How does your salary compare to Kane's? That kind of money can get you plenty of space and quiet.

You play with the roster you have. If you never heard of an arrogant POS throwing someone under the bus before there it is for you

I don’t doubt that. If I had his money though I still wouldn’t go to NY. More of a difference in preference I guess.
