I wonder why no teams are interested in pure rentals like Iggy or Mitchell? Maybe Sakic wants too much for them? I hope neither Iginla, Tyutin, Bourque, Mitchell stays on this team past deadline.

Well today is the day of no productivity. Sorry employer.

How many picks do we have in the upcoming draft right now, 6? We better come out of today with at least 8.

Roy and Sakic have been talking about the importance of making the minor league team competitive, and letting their prospects grow together down there since day 1. EV was more of a Roy guy than a MacFarland guy also.

The most obvious contributions with MacFarland's name on them are Bednar, Bodnarchuk, Goloubef, and Tyutin, and they're nothing to write home about. Even if he's responsible for some of the other decisions, there haven't really been any good ones since he took over.

MacFarland is our only hope to break the nepotistic circle and to root out some of the long standing hold overs. I dont think Kroenke is going to suddenly wake up and do it one day so slowly turning things over into a modern FO with more influence from him is our only hope.

That's nice that Sakic and Roy talked about the importance of a minor league system but there's saying and then there's doing and committing actual resources to doing so. Buying a few vets and changing the coach several years too late is nice but it's going to take more than that. Getting rid of Billington would be the true first step, see above point.

Easy, because they are ****. Sakic may want bag of pucks for them and nobody would take them anyway. I am not surprised.

Between comments posted here over the last few days and a little bit from AJ, I think Sakic is just trying to milk every last drop of value out of any offer. Active but not able to close is at least better than the sitting on hands theory.

Hopefully he'll treat today like a rummage sale regarding the rentals. he held firm on his prices early, but now is the time where getting someone to pay anything is better than paying to have it hauled off to the dump or packing it back up and bringing it back to the house.

Hey Avs fans, Bruins fan coming in peace here. I know there has been much talk about Duchene and Landeskog, wondering if there is a chance both could be traded to the same team? If so for example from the Bruins what would you want in return, keep in mind some salary would have to go back. Thanks, happy TDL day to all. FWIW I know this has been a tough year for you guys, but your team has a lot of great young players in the pipeline and will get a couple great players in the draft, I have no doubt the Avs will be a top team again sooner rather than later.

Cheers.

The farm.

Say goodbye to McAvoy, your next 2 1st round picks, Zboril and 3 of your best forward prospects...

So basically no chance in hell. Avs obviously would take on cap to make it work but honestly it wouldn't be worth it for the Bruins really...

So, you want Landy (23 y/o regular 20 ODD goal scorer) & Duchene (25 y/o regular 30 ODD goal scorer)?

1. Pastrnak (having a career year)
2. Carlo (unproven)
3. 1st rounder (18th - 20th overall)
4. Senyshyn (rookie)

* If you're needing to dump salary, think someone quality, not rubbish like Beleskey.

+ We could draft Nolan Patrick (to SOME degree may help with the loss of Duchene).
+ 18th - 20th overall & Senyshyn could be completely hit & miss
+ Carlo DEFENSIVELY has looked ok, is horrible on the O side of things.

Morning all.

I'd be flat out shocked if Duchene is traded today. If it was going to happen, I would have expected it yesterday.

Hopefully others will, but who knows.

So that's out...

I think you're correct, but wouldn't put it to bed just yet. They could still offer quite a bit in value to add to a guy like Pulock to the point Sakic shouldn't say no.

Barzal, Bellows, 1sts, etc. the deal likely would be a 4 piece type deal, but the Isles need to give Tavares something more concrete and immediate on the NHL squad IMO.

If we can't unload any of our rentals, I don't know what's more sad; the fact that nobody wants any of our junk rentals, or that the boobs in the front office went out and acquired those trash players to begin with.
