Anyone feel like Desmond Jennings would be a good signing? He is being released by Tampa tomorrow. Has struggled the last two years with injuries but was a 3+ WAR player for 3 years before.

Even if he made sense for the Jays, I don't think the Jays make sense for him.

Kc is going to make the play offs. They are like 18-6 or something in August

I dunno about that. Can they keep that up? Of course not. Everyone believes in a team when they go on a hot streak but eventually those teams fall back to Earth. I realize they've underachieved this season but if I'm a betting man I'm betting on one of the more consistent teams to take that 2nd wild card spot. I'd give KC about the same odds as the Yankees.

t Then he built the farm up again

This isn't true. The prospects that you think were part of a supposed "second" farm system infusion were actually in fact a part of the one and only major prospect haul...they were just in the low minors when the Marlins/Dickey trades were made. Even Anthony Alford was already drafted prior to those trades.

There was one big prospect haul, back when the draft and IFA system were exploitable. After that window closed, our prospect development took a significant tumble.

just AA was always a really solid GM

You're allowed to like him as much as you want, but this is a stretch as well. He was clearly learning on the fly and had to endure several mistakes, which means that he wasn't "always" the GM that you believe him to be. Some of his pitfalls throughout his tenure included: undervaluing defense, undervaluing character, and overacquisition of old players on over expensive contracts: deals that handcuffed himself from a payroll standpoint, and deals that he ultimately had to juggle his way around.

AA made trades, like most people ran their Fantasy Teams. That is why, he never valued defence and character. In fantasy leagues, you don't get points for these qualities. But when it comes to real baseball, they are important features.

Left coast
I thought Saunders was a good pickup and really surprised me this year BUT he really has shown what his ceiling is offensively. And defensively he certainly lost a step or two since his surgery.

Oh man, I wish I could have watched today's game. Reading through game thread after the game is pretty entertaining, though.
