Gonna be a dog fight right to the end for the division.

I know what else is new, but really. The team can't be dropping games like in the Cleveland series..

No word from the club yet.

EDIT: Wait, yes he is leading off and Travis is still out

Question:

If the 1 game wild card started tomorrow and blue jays were in it, who would you choose to pitch (assuming all the pitchers were ready to go)?

For me it would have to be between Sanchez and Happ. Stroman has been great since July but I want to see a little bit more of him being great, Estrada has struggled lately, and no to Dickey and Liriano for obvious reasons.

Sanchez has been remarkably consistent, in 17 out of 24 starts this year he's given up 2 ER or less and 19 out of 24 this year where he's given up 3 ER or less. Meanwhile Happ has been pretty unhittable since July with an 11.37 K/9 1.78 ERA 2.74 FIP and 2.84 xFIP.

Ultimately I would go with Happ, he's been unbelievable lately.

Prado is a 3 WAR player. JD is 7-8 WAR. We agree Mauer is a 2 WAR player formerly 5-7. I am not asking for 4 WAR jump. I am expect a 1 WAR jump.. not hard to imagine. Maybe for you.

I mean offensively. Prado has a 109 wRC+ the last 5 years, Donaldson is 140.

I'm expecting Stroman to continue mostly resembling the pitcher he has (if we can arbitrarily cut his season into bad-good), so I would go with him. He has experience from starting in the playoffs last year that Sanchez doesn't have, and I'm not sure how the time off is going to affect Sanchez come playoff time. So I go with the Stroshow.

this post-deadline play feels a lot more like 2014 than 2015.

Time to go back to the 5 man rotation? I think this pitching sequence is really messing up our starters.

Two blown saves in Cleveland (as well as stranding the world against Kluber) and a 2 hitter against CY Green in New York. Estrada has been a little iffy but the rotation as a whole is fine.

The team cannot play small ball to win games. If there hitting home runs they win but if they have to rely in single and sacrifices to win they are ****. Sickening to watch.

Ah yes that's the issue. Needed to small ball their way to 9 runs on Wednesday and 7 runs last night.

It's going to be interesting how Gibby handles the OF (JB and Saunders are both below average defensively) and how the pitching shakes out
