Nobody should be criticizing Ovi. He handles himself like a pro in all respects. People aren't appreciating that they got to watch the greatest goal-scorer of all time for 20 years.

I agree and every teammate that's played with him is initially shocked how friendly and team oriented he is.

They love playing with him.

I'd even add to get Mateychuk. Depending on the contract ask from Marchenko, a Knies / Carlo for Marchenko / Mateychuk swap seems to work.

Find the playoff warrior who can not be traded under any circumstance, and then find the playoff duds.

Nearly half those games for Knies was when he had a total of 3 regular season games of experience lol

I think the only way Knies gets dealt is if one of the pieces in return is on the way to becoming, or has the potential to be, a top-end stud d-man. Not saying Werenski is available, but let's say there is a team out there that has a 23 YO d-man who you could reasonably project in that direction...that's essentially the only way I'm trading Knies, and that team would have to add to the deal.

I still maintain Knies is not dealt unless it’s a top 10 pick coming in a package which entirely depends on how the draft board falls

You might see Knies moved in a package for an extended Werenski if he would sign here. Unfortunately you can’t guarantee a extension now so I don’t think Chayka takes that risk

I don’t see Knies moved in a hockey trade sense TBH

Not saying we should trade Knies for him, but people are really underselling Nikishin's value.

Look at what Nemec and Byram got. Nikishin's value is probably in between them, and I'd say closer to Byram personally.
