McCaan is their #1C ...here, he'd likely be C on line 4, or playing the wing.
getting the most icetime, all the PP time and the best wingers, and used as a main offensive player will tend to get you more points, but, its still and 8 game sample. lets see if he has a Karlsson breakout season (that he never came close to repeating) of he just goes back to being the 'meh' player he really is ...i'd still expect a career high season because he's used in the #1C role, but, that could just as easily been Kerfoot with the same opportunity, since over their careers Kerfoot has actually shown more than McCaan has

McCaan does score more goals
McCann also has an unsustainable shooting percentage, and his main linemate (Brandon Tanev) has an even more unsustainable shooting percentage.
Their underlying play is actually subpar, and even though they are putting up some goals, they are giving up even more the other way right now. That unsustainable shooting percentage is the only thing keeping them somewhat respectable at this point.
