Wow imagine giving up Liljegren and a 1st for one year of an injury prone goalie.
Yea, thankfully we never trade our picks down the toilet.

I don't think you can do that without moving Kerfoot out. I think Saad would have to come in around 4 million, and ship Mikheyev and Engvall outSo what's the going rate on Saad, 6M? Would love him as a Leaf but would need to move out some bodies. Is 4 years x 5.5M outrageous?
Healthy scratch in the playoffs Tatar I'm not calling meaningful. I'm not saying he's not useful, but he's not exactly in the same conversation as Saad for big signings imoSaad and Tatar are the only two FAs left who I would count as meaningful top 6 players, and Saad is almost certainly not going to sign for ~3.5 million. So it will probably either be Tatar or a trade
Some people definitely will complain no matter what. I was complaining because I didn't like a certain singing but figured Dubas was adding another 3C or top 6W with the remaining cash. I'm thinking he goes trade and honestly starting to think it could be a decently sized one. Reports Kerfoot is being shopped so add another 3.5 million. Honestly thought they may have flipped Kerfoot to Arizona with picks for Garland due in part to Kerfoots low salary earned being attractivePeople were complaining for no reason. We were going to add a top 6 forward. Lets see who it is and how good it is.
The good news is Marner believes if you feel your previous contract wasnt appropriate you can just add that on top of your new contract. To my count he owes the Leafs about 4 million so far.Comparing the Marner deal to aggregate Point deals makes my blood boil! Marner gets to go back for more too..fk off
Tarasenko + Asset (1st or a recent 1st round prospect) for nothing
Wouldn't mind doing that
All aboard the Mrazek train my friend. With the other goalie contracts and that deal...glad we got "our guy"Wow imagine giving up Liljegren and a 1st for one year of an injury prone goalie.
Tatar is definitely an enigma. He's been a legit top line caliber player in the regular season, but he's been unplayable in the playoffs according to two different coaches. I think it's worth betting on him turning things around, just because he's so good otherwise. The problem is, with 3 million in cap you're only going to be able to add a top 6 forward with big question marksHealthy scratch in the playoffs Tatar I'm not calling meaningful. Yup I don't like the Kampf signing, however the others I liked. Others were complaining over anything. Compared to the other teams signings, Dubas did well today. We haven't seen his big move yet and that looks to be close. Some people definitely will complain no matter what. That's the going rate for a cap dump asset who can contributeNo way does STL do that, retention or not...
Was just about to post this. Sounds like there's smoke happening. "Stay tuned" has been glued to the F5 button.
Ya definitely. Biggest thing dubas has done this last week is not make a stupid trade or signing like many many GMs didYup I don't like the Kampf signing, however the others I liked. Definitely could happen. My worry with that is it puts even more pressure on Matthews, Marner etc to carry the team/produce and we know in the playoffs they can't always been counted on. Basically if Kampf is playing 3C the bottom 6 is getting f*** all ice timeI have a strong feeling you see Kerfoot shipped out and we bring in Saad + another winger. Kampf is going to be our third line center.
It's worth seeing whats out there for them. Won't be a lot but maybe 3rd's.I wonder what the market for guys like Mik and Engvall are right now given some of the depth signings we saw today in the 2+M range.
Unplayable in the playoffs isn't exactly the mix we want to add to our young core that...can't get it done in the playoffs. Hard pass by me for TatarTatar is definitely an enigma. Re Friedman's tweet: we have 3.8m in cap space running a 19 man roster with one spot open. Can't get to 3.5 with any spares. 3.5 is either very "approximate", has us leaving a buffer, or is an end game number that factors in a trade or two

Ghost cost a 2nd + 7th and he played more of the year and makes less (lower AAV)
