Would you like to see Marner traded for Eichel

Would we have any interest in Vitaly Kravtsov? He is a left winger, which is our weak side. Also, while we are in win now mode (which said player could help us in) the Rangers are still a little behind us, and more willing to season their prospects in the minors.

Would something revolving around Amirov for Kravtsov intrigue any of the involved parties? Both Russian, both with fairly similar skill sets, with one a little farther ahead of development than the other. Rangers start fresh, and we get a prospect who is ready to enter the NHL now.
One of our top prospects for other team's reclamation project?

Really nice to see Nonis still making appearances here at HF occasionally.

Kravtsov doesn't have that kind of value right now. He is worth a late 2nd round pick at best.

Amirov hasn't been amazing, but he's progressed well enough for a mid-1st round pick. We are not moving that for a guy who is struggling to adjust to North American hockey and wants out.
If Amirov rehabs properly and manages to play 40+ games in the KHL with improved production, it’s possible he contends for an NHL spot next season. Kravtsov needs AHL time right now, so he’s in a similar boat.

With Lapierre, Mercer, Chinakhov, etc. already taking that step, it’s not inconceivable for Amirov to do the same next fall as he’s one of the older players in that class. You don’t trade that for a stagnating prospect like Kravtsov who lacks the high floor of an Amirov.

I'd definitely be enquiring about Kravtsov but I wouldn't trade that for him

I'd be willing to give up a 2nd or a 8-10 prospect in our pool but that's where I'd draw the line

Ditto. Combination of 2nd + 5 to 10 prospect. Or perhaps Mikheyev +

I wouldn't do Amirov for Kravtsov either, but I wouldn't call a guy who is two years older than Amirov a reclamation project just because the Rangers are having a regime change yardsale.

I Think value wise he's around Nylander. If both teams had similar needs a Nylander for Chychuran works 1 for 1.

Since they are rebuilding your package is more in the direction they would want to go but issue is that Robertson got injured which will reduce his values and Amirov really hasn't been able to up his value much

If Chychuran was dealt, they'd want either a potential top 10 pick, or a high end elite prospect. None of Amriov/Robertson or Lilijgren are true blue chippers.

Think they'd find a better deal outside from a different team than the Leafs.

The Canes for instance could sell Seth Jarvis + B prospect + 1st + salary to which to me would be a better deal than the Leafs offer, as Jarvis looks like a blue chip prospect above amirov/Robertson by a fair margin

I'm not sure where this random hypothetical Seth Jarvis Carolina package materialized from but the ship has sailed on a Chychrun trade after Arizona denied all rumours and started the season with him.

Am I the only one that doesn't really see the allure to Kravstov?

His KHL and AHL numbers have been okay, but nothing special for his age (Aside from his playoffs last year) and he's been pissed off each of the last two years after not making a team that isn't as good as ours.

I'd rather take a shot at Strome @50% if he's cheap.

He's young, talented and cheap for multiple years into the future

That's the sort of player we should be rolling the dice on if we can get him for our price

I doubt they retain on Strome and we already have multiple centers better suited to the role he needs to succeed

If Uncle Lou is willing to eat some of Komarov's salary I would easily acquire him for a 3rd/4th line role. He is exactly what this team needs. Players that get into others faces, can PK and chip in offensively.

Engvall for Komarov (Islanders pick up difference in contracts)

komorov was done 3 years ago.

Do you not believe he would add more to this lineup in a 4th line role than players like Amadio or Engvall?

just looking at players?
Amadio, sure
Engvall, no

Komarov is bad now. And his cap hit isn’t worth it even at 50% salary.

I take playing Amadio or Semyonov over Komarov at 1.5-3M

Interesting. I just figured fans would welcome his style of play to our bottom 6. I definitely wouldnt want him at the cap hit he currently holds. But if he were to be released or dealt with some if his contract paid by someone else. I thought for sure he would be useful for what we all want to see.

Didnt know his game dropped off so bad.

There’s a reason Lou Lamoriello is waiving him

I love Leo, was one of my favourite Leafs, but he’s no longer NHL quality.

I imagine he’ll go finish his career in the KHL starting next year

I love Chychrun but a trade with them would only involve Marner or Nylander and if I'm Toronto I would trade Marner instead. This is most likely an off season trade since Marner will be owed a lot less dollars in actual salary than cap hit.
I like Rielly but I think he's getting 8 plus long term, replace him with Chychrun and run Sandin on third pair to replace Riellys offence.

That is what Muzzin is. Really, that is what Holl is too. They are getting beat by speed.

Liljegren or Dermott would be a perfect partner for Muzzin, and Dermott or Sandin would work well for Holl.

You don't need to look outside of the organization.

Holl is not physical. Teams aren't scared to get into the boards with Holl behind them.

Dermott should be playing with Muzzin. There is no reason why Holl is on the 2 pairing. Holl should be paired will Sandin on 3rd pairing.

It is too early to look outside the organization. Leafs brass needs to start playing players in the slots they should be playing in prior to say something isnt working.

A Holl - Sandin pair is too slow.

Dermott is doing a great job covering up for Sandin skating and defensive problems, while Sandin also compliments Dermotts lack of creativity and offense.

That Muz-Holl pairing gets caught out of position way too much. It looks like this seasons offensive strategy is really promoting over active defense in the offensive zone, which looks like it's hurting that pairing.

just out of curiosity why doesnt he have that kind of value anymore? hes a former 9th overall pick nad it doesnt seem to be working out with the rangers.

So in other words you wouldn't trade for him.

I wouldn't trade more than the 60th overall pick in 2020 that Rangers received for Lias Andersson, who was in the same spot last year. If anything, Andersson should have received more in a trade than Kravtsov.

Both were former top 10 picks who probably shouldn't have been top 10 picks, 22 years old at the time they wanted out, and struggled to make the NHL.

Andersson, however, can play center, has been much better in North America even though he has struggled to make the NHL, and is more likely to stick in a bottom 6. Kravtsov hasn't translated any offense to the AHL, which is the only thing that makes him valuable... Sandin put up more points as a D+1 defenseman than Kravtsov did as a D+2 and D+3 winger combined.

If Kravtsov wasn't a former top 10 pick and had that prestige attached to him, nobody would pay anything for him. So I think my offer is more than generous, and if they get more than that from someone else, they should take it and run.

Well, I don't think they share your opinion on this one.

Because the only value he has anymore is being a former 9th overall pick. He has sucked in North America and he will be 22 in a few months. There is time for him to turn it around, but he is a reclamation project. Those don't get huge returns.

If he was a 4th round pick who is considered an offensive winger but only put up 19 points in 59 games as a 21 and 22 year old in the AHL, you think anyone would give up anything for him? The only reason a 2nd round pick would even be on the table is because he was a former 9th overall pick.

Just like that was on the table for former 7th overall pick Andersson last year, and Andersson at least didn't totally suck in the AHL. Another example is Nail Yakupov. Turning 23, picked up a conditional 3rd which became a 2nd if he put up 15 goals. Former 1st overall pick with over 50 goals and 100 points in the NHL at the time. Kravtsov has not even played an NHL game yet, and you can't say he had more upside than Yakupov.

What do people think Kravtsov is worth?

I've already posted this - a prospect in our 5 to 10 range and a 2nd... or Mikheyev. Seems with some internet digging it appears he's been shat on my the management group going back to last year, is quite unhappy with them, and doesn't see a role for him there in the top-6 with Panarin, Kakko, Lafreinere, and Kreider.

I'd love to take a flyer on this kid, just like I would have loved to take a flyer on Lias last year before LA scooped him up and were happy to see him succeed in their system.
