I wonder if the Kings would have any interest in a Holl and Anderson for T. Moore and Clague swap in the near future.

Cap space close to the same, same term as well. Gain a solid mid line forward that gives us a lot of speed who knows Toronto and a defenseman for the Marlies. Leafs can then call-up Menell. Kings get a RD upgrade with Doughty and Walker out long-term, and also gain a depth forward.

I'm not sure if it makes much sense though. I'd be a little nervous about downgrading the defensive core further.

I quite like Trevor Moore and the trade is definitely reasonable and rational. I also don't know about downgrading on the blueline to upgrade at forward though since a forward would have to come out of the lineup to accommodate Moore.

Leafs haven’t started contract talks with Campbell - The Fourth Period

The Leafs now have $75.28 million in salary cap hits committed to next season, giving them little wiggle room to work with to round out the rest of their roster, as currently constructed – the $81.5 million salary cap is expected to climb $1 million for the 2022-23 season.

Maple Leafs defenceman Rasmus Sandin, goaltender Jack Campbell, and forwards Ilya Mikheyev, Jason Spezza and Ondrej Kase among the players in need of new deals. Campbell, Miykeyev and Spezza are eligible to become unrestricted free agents.

During a Friday appearance on NHL Tonight on NHL Network, TFP’s David Pagnotta revealed the Maple Leafs have not yet engaged in contract negotiations with Campbell’s agent.

According to Pagnotta, the Leafs spoke with Campbell’s team prior to the start of the season, but negotiations aren’t expected to take place until the season concludes, barring a shift from either side.

“I can tell you, they had very, very loose preliminary discussions right before the start of the season – between the Leafs and Campbell’s agent – and there hasn’t been much since; there’s been really no discussions to this point,” Pagnotta said.

“My understanding, my scope of this scenario, is that they’re going to wait. I think both sides are going to be comfortable waiting to see how the season plays out before ultimately determining the fate of Jack Campbell.”

Campbell is in the final year of a two-year, $3.3 million contract he signed with the Los Angeles Kings, prior to being traded to the Maple Leafs.

If Campbell continues to perform well in net for the Leafs, he could command around or north of $5 million per season on a new contract.

In seven games with the Leafs so far this season, six of which he started, Campbell has posted a 3-2-1 record with a 2.31 goals-against-average and a .918 save percentage.

The timing of the Rielly contract is odd. No real pressure point. Pure speculation but I wonder if Dubas shopped some players this week and liked what the market had to offer and wanted to get this done first.

Talks started around training camp apparently, per Rielly anyway.

All we need is a HEALTHY Mrazek to be around this year to split the starters load. If Mrazek plays close to Campbell's level, as good as, or better.....luckily that'll make the negotiations with Campbell easier. Gives him a benchmark of 3.8m per coming into negotiations. Mrazek is back tonight I believe
