That is definitely bias. Look at what Tampa does with their picks outside the first round.
I’m sure there are many other GMs with a better drafting resume right now.

I’m not saying Kyle and the Leafs are bad just unproven so far. No one he has drafted has proven anything in the NHL yet
Yzerman has been damn good, he'll turn Detroit around; they won't go through a Buffalo.

Lol the Leafs are rumoured to be in on every trade, let's see what happens. The only they weren't rumoured for was Riley Nash lol

Yeah true enough. A 1st for him... sorry I get a lot of people are big on him... but I hope Dubas is a little more creative then that. Throwing a 1st at him... let someone else.

A first to me is fine if you're big game hunting. He isn't that to me.

No disrespect Foligno... he has some skills we need but not for that price.

lol dubas going all in with "leadership"/"intangibles this year, if the rumour is true about foligno.
As he should. The constant 1st rd exits....they weren't due to lack of skill. We have enough of that. You need other intangibles to win

I’d give a first for Hall and Ullmark, meaning Freddy stays on Ltir.
If he can’t, I guess virtually any trade would require lots of salary retention.

A 1st for Foligno in my opinion this year is worth it. Leafs are legit this year, not to mention the 1st is more of a crapshoot this year with COVID then in past years. Leafs are still pretty loaded with good prospects - Lily, Sundin, Robertson, Amirov etc. Really won’t impact us much. Foligno on the other hand is a slightly worse version of Hyman and meaner. That I think makes us a very tough team to beat

I have no doubt he will turn Detroit around. He might be the best GM in the league.

As for Dubas I’m very happy with his drafting so far but it’s just too early. I have to see multiple guys having success in the NHL before he earns the credit for it. Looking good so far

I for one would not mind giving up a 1st for Foligno. This is the year to go for it.

Dubas has made Locker Room Leadership and Grit a priority going back to the Trade deadline. Nick Foligno checks both boxes.

I'mm all for going for it but if we are moving a 1st i'd hope for a better player

We sorted out our locker room in the off-season

Since Leafs are giving up a first. Let’s make it into a bigger deal for Merz or Korpisalo and Foligno. Leafs could trade maybe our first this year, Kerfoot, liljegren, Hutchinson and Hallander. I don’t know what offer would be good for leafs to get it done?

You can never have enough grit and leadership. We have a team full of young superstars. Nick Foligno is a warrior. He would do wonders for this team

I was actually coming to post something quite similiar. I don't think I'd wanna add much or anything really beyond the 1st, but Foligno is a player who makes us clearly harder to play against, and I think his offensive contribution with our top 6 guys can bounce back to an extent.

I'm not convinced on Foligno, but I certainly won't be upset if the Leafs do it.

The draft really is a total mess this year, and if all pans out as we hope/expect of this team, our first is probably 28th at best...

I'm fine with just a 1st but I'd be worried about the 3rd team retention if it's at the same salary/pick rate as the Savard trade (about 125k/4th).

If they end up having to cough up a 1st + 3rd+ for just Foligno that would be a lot.

If they at least got some kind of mid-late round pick in 2021 along with him I'd be alright with it.
