Wasn't most of that was related to available cap.
"We paid a price to make space for you."
Hopefully that’s a good enough pitch.

I hope not, Campbell is not the answerHopefully that’s a good enough pitch.

Benefit of hindsight when it comes to Campbell. Avs are saying the same thing when it comes to Nichushkin.Looking back on it all, last summer would have been the time to bet on Jack on a $3.5-4 million instead of giving the other guy a medium term deal.
Who do things need to be characterized as so dramatic? Leafs seemed to be looking to go in another direction and now they can’t…
Sure lets end this decade without a first rd pick...enough is enough with giving up picks, we are not tampa or coloradoGibson should be this teams #1 target. Will it require getting rid of assets as opposed to just signing a goalie, yes, is it worth it, yes. Gibson is a legit #1 who is going to give you 60 games and while he hasn't been the greatest the last couple of years, I think a lot of that is also on the team in front of him.
To Toronto-
Gibson
To Anaheim-
Kerfoot
Robertson
1st Round Pick
What’s the cap in your world?None of the goalies on the market are better than a healthy Campbell. Just sign him and make sure his confidence stays high. We need a new back up though because Kallgren is a third stringer.
Sign someone like Copp or Nishkunin to play with Matthews.
Nish Matthews marner
Copp Tavares nylander
Engval kampf helm/kase
Kassian Holmberg Steeves/Anderson
Cogliano
Rielly brodie
Gio lilly
Sandin Zadorov
Lybush
Campbell
Dreiger
Kallgren
Muzzin and holl can bring in picks or holl can be the 7d.
Sens are looking for a RHD, we’re looking for a goalie.

For
Matt Murray @ $2M (50% retained by Senators, remainder retained by additional team)
At least gives us an option in net, ideally Murray would be our backup and we can sign one of Campbell, Kuemper, or trade for Gibson, Talbot.
Lets just overpay for Varlamov. Don't want to be anchored to one of these mediocre options for the next five years.

Is Mike Johnson a good insider?
He gave his opinion on Overdrive yesterday and thinks that Talbot is who TOR is going after.
Is this unlikely?
I consider that ideal at this point, but would want a tandem. Is Mike Johnson a good insider?

The more I think about it the more I’d prefer this route. Then reassess the position in a years time.Lets just overpay for Varlamov. Don't want to be anchored to one of these mediocre options for the next five years.
As a back-up goalie?
When you havent made it out of the first round in twenty years, your a bottom feeder also.Yes, if some bottom feeders want to overpay, most good teams won't be able to match.
If a good goaltender is just after cash and doesn't care about winning, maybe they aren't the guys you want to target?

Talbot has a terrible track record.Realistically what does a Cam Talbot Trade look like?
