Good experience for those young guys. And remember last season we played one of our final games against loaded Shawn wright spits and beat them in Windsor with our kids Those young guys ( hawrey. Mitchell , etc ) are chomping at the bit to beat a Windsor or Kitchener team. It would be fun to watch the kids beat them too in meaningless games
Wright was on the Spits two seasons ago, and from what I can see from the boxscore only McGurn & Diaco didn't play, unsure if they were hurt or not.

Edit: they played the final game at home vs. Kitchener. So it's probably the same situation as I suggested with this season going to Erie, they didn't take them on the trip to Windsor

I have been super impressed with Nichol of late. I expected him to drop off a touch when the bigger names came back but he has played a key role in the knights being able to balance out their top 3 lines. He is even tied for second on the team in even strength points.

Dickinson - 46
Barkey - 43
Nichol - 43
Montgomery - 41
O'Reilly - 38
Sim - 33
O’Reilly and Nicholl will be next years offences keys.

If that was Sim it would have been 5 and a game.
The Niagara announcers likening it to Hunter/Turgeon means Van Vliet should get minimum 20 games right?

I thought tonights game was sold out. Is it 'dress as an empty seat night'?
I checked the site when it was mentioned here it was a sell out and there were no tickets available. Probably either corporate no-shows or scalpers.

Every one of Londons games this season has been listed as a sell out except one. But there's been empty seats every game

It was an extremely dirty play, but it seems that players are allowed to take liberties against us without any retribution from the league. Hence why we have so many fighting majors, we continously have to take matters into our own hands.

This is the problem with the 3 fight rule, Van Vliet running around the ice taking runs at the Knights best players and none of the Knights tough/role guys like Sim or Boulton can fight him without getting suspended. So Dickinson has to step up and fight and now they have lost him for 17 minutes of the game.

Props to Dickinson for dropping the gloves and holding his own though, Van Vliet is a tough customer and someone had to settle him down.

Props to to Dickison agreed, BUT Boulton and/or Sim would gladly take the 2 Gs to step in, 3 fight rule or not. That wasnt a deterebt in this play. #2 needed to step up for himself there and wanted to and both Boulton n Sim let him. Both those players approached and backed off when it was clear Dickinson wanted to go.
Love how a LK forward jumped off and Boulton jumped on before the fight lol.
Also appreciate the Niagara announcers....called both the Barkey n Dixkinson plays without prejudice

I one thousand pecent agree with this. I totally understand taking "staged" fighting out of the game but in the heat of the moment when players are taking liberties with other players on the officials turn a continuous blind eye something is going to happen.

If the league is not going to allow players to police themselves at this level then it is time for them to bring in some competent officials to police the games. Unfortunately very few, if any of the big boys in the OHL and CHL making decisions have ever played any type of Junior Hockey.

If Boulton had fought in that situation, he would have got 10 games because they would have ruled he left the bench with the intent to fight and if Sim wanted to go, he would have. Sim went over and was having words. So, I disagree with what you are saying, I believe the guys at the fight limit are much much more hesitant to drop the gloves unless instigated upon.

Yes that is true Orange! Sim has said that he has had to turn down fights because of this and he feels bad because he knows he needs to stick up for his guys.

Hard to decide what is more embarrassing tonight. The way the Knights are playing or the officiating. Too close to call with 12:00 left in the game.

Nurmi has been useless lately

Thanks Julien.
Agree on Nurmi. It’s a head scratcher as to why he has been on the 1st line lately - he adds zero offense. I think I would rather see Read take his spot at this point. Also, Montgomery has really quieted down in recent weeks - not possessing the puck and using his speed nearly as much. Tough loss tonight to a struggling team.

No Evan Van Gorp will start his commitment in 2027-2028. So he will play out his remaining OHL eligibility with the Knights. Meaning next year and the year after as an OA.
I know that. The poster I was responding to was saying van gorp was leaving like Montgomery is leaving next year. I said the difference between the two is that Montgomery is an OA next year meaning Van Gorp will be back.

I just reread my response and I now see how you might have been confused.

I wasn't keeping track of line juggling tonight, but Read was listed on the first line and Nurmi on the 4th

Ok. I disagree. No worries. Watch the replay, Once Sam decided to go Sim supported it, if Sam didn't he would have gone.
Boulton changed on a legit line change. So I doubt in his head he thought he'd getc10 games if he engaged or he would not have been the F jumping on the change. And he also showed restraint letting Sam go. You don't have 2 players like that step back in the heat of the moment unless Sam said I got it. That was calculated and again good on Sam as he needed that and did well.

Sim let Sam take care of it himself and it was obvious Sam wanted to ( and quit honestly he needed to in that situation )
I know the organization would support a 2 game sit down to defend a teammate of necessary so I don't think the 3 fight rule made any difference.

Dickinson fought cause HE got creamed not to stop VV from running around lol.

New whipping boy?

Medvedev has been quite poor the past two games. Hopefully he gets it out of his system now….Elliott was always going to be the starter come playoffs being an OA player with playoff experience. Officiating or not, that’s embarrassing losing to Niagara. Tough game coming tomorrow.

Can you not stick up for teammates without fighting?
My experience from being on lower level Jr benches and AAA U18/16 is yes you can. And it can be very effective when done right.
