I wonder if the Dermott trade happened before Dubas knew Sandin was going to be out for a while.
doesnt matter Sandin is the odd man out on the left when Muzzin is back and Brodie moves back to the right. I just hope Lil plays ahead of Holl, and Holl drops to #7, as he's really lost a few steps, and cant clear the puck out of the d-zone

Nylander is elite when he's engaged and scoring. It's the other side of Nylander that drives a lot of us crazy because he's so talented but his effort level is so inconsistent
Even with Nylander's weaknesses, it's still a terrible trade

The awkward marriages that will continue into the playoffs until the off season IMO are Debrusk and Klingberg...both are there but both didnt rescind their trade requests.
Definitely. Of course, I'm sure that Boston being a playoff team and Dallas being on the cusp factored into those decisions. Boston at least can - and I'm assuming will - move DeBrusk in the offseason. Probably tough to make a hockey trade out of it by yesterday's deadline though.

Your first paragraph is exactly why I wished we moved Kerfoot at the deadline. With the crazy prices, we could've probably gotten a 1st Round Pick, if not then 2 2nds which could've replaced the ones we lost in the Giordano trade. Having Kerfoot on our 4th line making 3.5 million is absolutely horrible.

We know Kerfoot doesn't work on the 2nd line, you're not changing the 3rd line, which only leaves him on the 4th line.

Why does Kerfoots cap hit matter at all this time of year?

Just listened to Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong between 1st and 2nd periods in Kraken at Coyotes game. Guy was beaming over using the 2nd in the Ritchie deal for Jack McBain. Also, seemed to laugh when they brought up he got Harri Sateri, but no question was asked about him.

What would you rather have?

Our 2nd rounder and Ritchie

Lyubushkin

Jack McBain

Except this is distorted logic.

Trading a 2nd for McBain was no guarantee he'd sign. He was about to be a free agent and was able to dictate his location. The Wild did very well recouping an asset given the situation.

The probability of 2nd rounders (even if you believe we draft better than the average team) vs the probability of high-performing graduate still likely leans towards the latter.

It worked out well for the Yotes, too. McBain was on, in person, right there after the Armstrong interview. I don't know for sure, but I think Armstrong knew for certain he would sign. He was ecstatic to have him.

What in the actual F***??

Looks like I found JF jr's burner account.

Instead of making personal attacks on everybody, why don't you use your brain to address it.

Forsberg+Copp+Paul+Anderson > Tavares+Kerfoot+Mikheyev+Engvall.

The only thing that's outlandish is Tavares has a NMC which we have to get him to waive (which is a little NHL 22 to suggest) but once we bail out in the playoffs again nothing is off the table for me. We can't win with paying 4 forwards half the cap. Tavares HAS to go. I'm asking him to waive.
