Gross, not a guy you want in the room. I mean maybe it’ll work in Carolina, but the attention he’d get here being ties son combined with his character flaws makes that a hard pass in this market
Meh, he's a LWer capable of playing top 6 and obviously tied to the Leafs through his dad.

Could be that we stayed away for the character concerns, but he went for pennies.

Your first paragraph is exactly why I wished we moved Kerfoot at the deadline. With the crazy prices, we could've probably gotten a 1st Round Pick, if not then 2 2nds which could've replaced the ones we lost in the Giordano trade. Having Kerfoot on our 4th line making 3.5 million is absolutely horrible.

We know Kerfoot doesn't work on the 2nd line, you're not changing the 3rd line, which only leaves him on the 4th line.
I understand where you are coming from...but kerfoot has been the ultimate swiss army knife...to get rid of him for picks that are still an unknown variable while we are still in the compete mode kind of feels counterproductive. Injuries and or chemistry issues always occurs and this guy has been able to fit into whereever you plug him in. I've been following him since his avalance days and I can say he's been better than he was with them.

I swear if it was any other team that put Harri Sateri on waivers he would've cleared. I hope he doesn't report to ARI.

Harri Sateri was never going to be answer to anything. Arizona did what any team that needed a goalie should.
Business is business

Our goalie problem has been well documented for last 6 weeks. Any decisions or actions should have been well thought of and acted upon. Not wait until the last day of the trade deadline, that's not on Arizona. That's on us

Don't mind Leafs deadline day, would have been to add a second line winger but apart from Copp there was really no one out there that would have been worth the price, but added a top 4 d-man and a 4th line player that will be more useful then Simmonds. Would have been nice to add a goalie, but Dubas and management believe Campbell will perform better then currently.

All in all, we improved a already good team and can do some damage if we get .910 goaltending IMO. (Here's hoping we face anyone other then Tampa in the playoffs, I don't believe the Panthers and Hurricanes aren't beatable with Freddy and Bob in net, compared to Vasy). Hope for no more injuries to the team now.

Best one since Bill Watters and his broken fax machine.
Burkie & chiapet confused on who was throwing in their first round pick in the original Kaberle for Kessel deal was a knee slapper as well.
I believe he hustled Bryan Murray into not trading up for Kadri (and thus settling for Leaf legend jared Cowan) that draft as well.

So you wanted to move Kerfoot, and open up cap space, and do nothing with it? You really think the next guy in line is better than Kerfoot, no matter what they make? Who cares what his cap hit is for now, it’s completely irrelevant until the offseason.

Not surprised Duszak was *selfishly* held onto. They likely wouldn't want to force the Marlies into recovering from that loss in a Playoff pursuit. He's likely just non-tendered in the offseason and can find himself a better opportunity.

Dangle kept saying Menell was available, and he's not much of a factor on the Marlies so far, so I'm surprised that didn't happen. Technically speaking, he could be moved still ahead of the AHL Trade Deadine for Future Considerations and the Marlies could get an AHL contract in return. The Marlies could even end up better off in that deal this year with the right target in mind, the Leafs shed another contract, and Menell gets his new chance

Dusak or Mennel could still be traded. The trade deadline is just the deadline to be able to play in the playoffs. As that would be unlikely with these 2 guys anyway the trade deadline doesn’t really matter.

Yep, I doubt Duszak is because the intention behind all of that was to see if he could get an NHL chance.

I think Menell could definitely still go for Future Considerations (AHL contract return). Marlies could try to land a capable vet D on an AHL deal to replace some of the Biega influence maybe.
