Ottawa outwardly stating they were looking too acquire a veteran defenceman to play with their top prospect (Sanderson) and then going and paying assets for a shit player like Hamonic who the Canucks players despised is an absolute chef's kiss.

Not even surprised Dermott quietly and professionally asked for a trade. It was good on Dubas to trade him also where it seems like he wanted to play and has family. Best of luck to Dermott.
He asked for a trade?

Yes. Dubas had an interview yesterday, and stated such.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think that’s what he said. I believe he said they’d been in discussions a while but that they already knew Sandin’s status prior to finalizing the trade

1. Tavares NMC, so this never happens
2. Why trade Muzzin? He's been injured, and will likely come back as strong as ever.
3. Crouse is an overpay, even including the dumping of Mrazek
4. Given we can't, and won't trade Tavares, no point in getting Horvat.

Start at 1:00 mark. "Those other two moves well in motion, the scan on the knee came after those trade calls."

If there’s one thing you can be counted on for, it’s consistency. These proposal posts are consistently awful.

This kind of stuff had immeasurable value with players around the league. Even mikheyev was professional end mature with his off season request and subsequent effort this years now healthy. The way Kyle handled cobras wrist injury probably built up a lot of respect. This is a guy who cares about the people, not just the player and in 2022 that’s a big deal.

It appears as though you just traded 4 first round picks and made the team shockingly worse (...BUT HITS).

Messy. Have to think it doesn't go through, can't see Dadonov or the NHLPA backing off it, bad precedent.
Maybe they allow the other pieces of the trade to go thru but grant dadonov FA status after being paid out in full for this & next year while Anaheim still gets hit with the cap. Then a heavy fine on all three clown show front offices that let this happen.
Even if you wanted to scrap the trade entirely that’s a tough situation to send the player back into after this debacle

Isn’t this simple? If it wasn’t filed. It’s dadanov fault. Trade goes through

if it was filed and Vegas didn’t get it. It’s their fault trade doesn’t go through. Ottawa can also be at fault but doesn’t change anything

For future reference all NTC and contracts filed with league if not already

No good answer for the player in this one, no doubt. I'd think just be adults about it, trades happen, it's business, just dress for Vegas to round off the season with a promise to move him in the offseason. Or I guess find another trade with someone not playoff bound, that's an out.

They're all submitted to the league, have to be approved. Either Ottawa or Dadanov's (agents) fault, hard to blame the two trading teams yesterday I think. Although like Zeke says, google Capfriendly when in doubt lol..

The fact he’s signed for next year makes it more complicated, he’s got 15 months of his future to decide. If he was an upcoming ufa then it’s less of an issue I’d imagine

So, the names that pop up in trade rumours or as being "available" often come up again in the summer and get traded or signed. What's the list of people who came up? Here's what I heard. Please add if I'm missing someone. (i've included some FAs)

P.K. Subban
Kessel
Calvin de Haan
Chris Tierney
Colin Miller
Pysyk
Zacha
Colin White
Provorov
Chychrun
Konecny
DeBrusk
Bertuzzi
Klingberg
Garland
Soucy
Georgiev
Korpisalo
Holtby
Craig Anderson
Varlamov
Gibson

Rumors that the Leafs were after Varlomov but Lou wanted to keep him for year and decide on Varlomov in the summer.
