I really think Sandin and Liljegren should be kept. I'd target soucy and manson.

Toronto
Soucy 2.75 million

Seattle
2022 2nd
Rubins

Toronto
Manson 4.1 million

Anaheim
1st 2023 (Top 15 Protected)
Dermott 1.5 million

With Muzzins Ltir at 5.6 and dermott out at 1.5 leafs would have 7.1 million in space. Soucy and Manson would equal 6.875 million in. The leafs blue line would be big nasty and really well balanced with injury depth as well.

manson isnt being traded to canada ... its been mentioned a couple dozen times already. He put all those teams in his no trade list.
people need to spot making trades involving manson...

why would seattle accept that trade ? its garbage for them

And why would the Leafs want another 6th. d-man?

Leafs should be looking to improve the top 4, not go after another bottom pairing defender.

Maybe post the list for those that haven't seen it, would avoid these mix ups.

This doesn't mean he won't come to Canada. He has a 12 team no trade list so has to fill it up with something right?

Probably put all of Canada on it by default so he doesn't wake up one day and see that his entire life has been moved to a different country. He would have already gotten blindsided with a trade to Winnipeg if he didn't have his no trade list. He would want to make that decision on his own terms.

This guys a professional in the NHL, why wouldn't he want to come to a contender like the Leafs for a cup run? I can understand vetoing Winnipeg. He's a UFA he can flee back to USA in a few months if he comes here.

The only thing Mansons no trade list means as far as the Leafs are concerned is that he's most likely a guaranteed rental we won't be able to re-sign, so the price might not be worth it.

I don't see why people think we need 2 defensemen...

Honestly, if Muzzin is coming back, we don't need any defensemen. We have 8 every day guys on our roster (4 on each side) plus some decent depth on the Marlies (although there may be some moves to bolster the Marlies blueline depth which can also benefit the Leafs).

We need our goaltending to improve and maybe we can get another forward if we don't want Robertson around for the playoffs. Doesn't need to be anything amazing; just someone who can make the 4th line more useful in the playoffs if we need it.

Absolutely is.

Is that the consensus? I seem to recall a handful of guys available - three at the top end of the market two of which are 'maybe's (Miller, Lindholm), plus a scattering of depth players as you'd typically see. I could be wrong but definitely just seems like a normal TDL.

Not really.

It's definitely a buyer's market.

The East is already set with its playoff teams. Usually, the deadline has a few borderline teams, but this season it's either you're in or you're way out. The divide will only increase as the deadline gets closer.

All of this has created a unique situation where lots of teams are selling pieces.

lotsa lotsa targets available this year.

buyer's market.

I'd love to get Lindholm

Slide Rielly over to the right and put Brodie with Muzzin

I'd put that top 4 up against anybody if Muzzin hasn't turned into a pumpkin

Isn't it always a Sellers Market?

Not sure if this is the right thread, but with the situation in Russia/Ukraine... and the ruble crumbling. Are we going to see a KHL exodus this summer?

Don't think Russian born players will have an easy time getting North American visas - but we will see what happens in the next 6 months...

Almost half the top scorers in that league are not even Russian.
Mostly AHL level talent but nonetheless.

Huh... I didn't realize that. I still see a few teams in the hunt in the west. I guess we'll see.

Not when you have this many players rumored available and so few actual contending teams with any cap space to make moves.
Seems like there are many teams that have a shot to go far and few high end players available.
