I'd be cool with picking up Klingberg.

But why? I get that he's got a big name, and we always want a shiny toy, but is he the piece we need? I mean, we most certainly won't be able to resign him, as he's probably looking at $7-8 million. He's a PP quarterback... which we don't need.... He's going to be very expensive to buy.

I think we need a solid #4, or a guy who can become that soon. Someone we can keep long-term. I know this is well off the map, but I'd go for Andrew Peeke out of Columbus. Physical, defensive RHD, good on PK, good size, mobility and is signed for next year as well, under $1 mil. Go get someone who compliments our needs, who we can keep for years to come.

Well, depends what we give up. Dermott? Why not, the guy isn't moving any needles for us.

Maybe Dallas can get more though. I just wouldn't be upset if Dubas aquired him, that's all.

Would be nice to know if we are one of the teams that interviewed.

They just stated that Oilers, Tampa and Florida were the top three teams.

I mean, the guy on Tampa or Florida... that would suck, if he can stick to hockey.

You think we could get Klingberg for Dermott? It's going to cost at least a first, and probably Dermott and more on top of that.... Stars fans want Nylander in a deal for Klingberg... He will be one of the biggest name D in the rental market, and it's going to be very expensive... expect him to get close to 7 years x $63 million as a UFA...

Well then f*** it I change my mind.

Nylander?!?!?! Point me to where I can go and laugh at that please? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oilers are the right amount of desperate to sign him. Wouldn’t be surprised.

Hope the Oilers continue to crash and burn

He caught my eye a bit the year before last, more looking at Seth Jones but he seemed a serviceable bottom 4 type. Still the case?

Yet we give away 1st round picks for rentals all the time, even if they never play

Dreger says it's EDM, TB or Florida.

Would be really annoying if he ended up in TB or Florida.

And that's exactly why Tampa is a perennial cup contender. They care about hockey and winning and they know that if they continue to do that, no one is going to care about players personal lives. You know, the way it should be.

Klingberg has not been very good for the past few seasons. His offense has fallen off a bit and he is an absolute tire fire in the defensive zone. You may call it the Rick Bowness effect, but are you willing to gamble on him turning his game around?

Let's say we're interested:
-Not breaking up Rielly - Brodie
-You can't trust Klingberg on the second pair against tough competition
-You're not overpaying him to play on the 3rd pair. Plus, you'd rather have the kids continue to develop and frankly, probably be better than Klingberg

I'm just not seeing a fit
