A bonafide #2 centre with a 2 way game gets min 6.5M AAV and he is a vet so price goes up .. likely a 8M AAV which leafs can't afford but he will find a home and CAP parity works again

Have you looked at the Leafs salary cap lately? He's going to have to want to come back for league minimum

Rielly and Campbell are together costing us at least 5M+ more next year than they are this year. We have even less space next year than this year.

Price will be way too high for us… he’s not getting less than 7 and we can’t afford that for him

This is total NHL22 moves but it turned out good and I definitely wouldn’t mind it happening this off-season.

To Toronto: Ryan Pulock + Anthony Beauvillier + Oliver Wahlstrom + 3rd Round Draft Pick
To Islanders: Mitch Marner, Justin Holl

To Toronto: Sean Monahan (50% retained)
To Calgary: Alex Kerfoot

UFA Signing: Ryan Strome

Nylander - Matthews - Wahlstrom
Beauvillier - Tavares - Strome
Bunting - Monahan - Kase
Ritchie - Kampf - Simmonds

Rielly - Pulock
Sandin - Brodie
Muzzin - Liljegren

Campbell - Mrazek

Rielly - Liljegren
Chychrun - Niemela
Dermott - Bogosian type

Could be a decent D for almost a decade. Of course that would depend on Niemela and Liljegren progressing and being signed to team friendly contracts.

Looks pretty good. I was gonna say I think we'd keep Sandin over Dermott but I realized that you probably left him off because he'd be one of the main pieces in a Chychrun trade.

At least one of those young defenseman is going in the package to acquire Chychrun

In fact most of the time they want Sandin/Liljegren plus Niemela plus a lot of other stuff

The best package I'd give them is Sandin and Robertson tbh. Idk if I'd want to give up Niemela or Amirov.

If I could get him signed for 6x6 which I doubt I might ask the team if they wanted him back. He seems like a great guy so if they were on board and he wanted to take a discount to come back... He could move to wing with Tavares. They would be possession machines together on a line.

Sandin, Robertson, Holl and a 2nd for Chychrun. I wouldn’t go past that.

Then make other moves like moving Dermott and Mikheyev to get back under the salary cap.

I was thinking something like Sandin, Robertson and a 1st

Offers like that seem to offend Arizona fans, they want that plus Niemela usually

I think they are crazy and would sack a GM for even thinking of offering that but apparently he's the second coming of Orr I'm lead to believe

Pretty much anything would offend them. Some are suggesting 4 1sts or equivalent prospects, a young roster player and not taking any salary back.

I don't think he's the second coming of Orr but I can see him as an eventual Rielly replacement.
