yes he did, it's literally why we couldn't score.
We couldn't score (as much) because Price had one of the best runs of his career through the first 3 rounds of the playoffs, not because of Montreal's defense or some imaginary idea that Price had clean looks on all of his saves.

Offers like that seem to offend Arizona fans, they want that plus Niemela usually

I think they are crazy and would sack a GM for even thinking of offering that but apparently he's the second coming of Orr I'm lead to believe

Every fanbase is gonna overrate their players when it comes to trade offers for their players. Erik Karlsson was considered the best defenceman/offensive defenceman in the league when he got traded and he was only 27 at the time and had won 2 Norris trophies. That trade got Ottawa Stuetzle (I'd say they lucked out on it being a top 3 pick), Norris who was an unsigned prospect they had coming out of college, DeMelo (was a good player who they didn't keep very long), Tierney, Balcers(already back on the Sharks), Mads Sogaard (used one of the picks they got from the Sharks to trade with Carolina to draft this 6'7 goalie), and then the last piece finally with a pick they got only because Karlsson re signed in SJ is Zack Ostapchuk. Don't know much about him but judging by his stats it looks like he should've gone later and especially seeing some of the players picked not much longer after him it looks worse. So in total it looks like this:

Stuezle, Tierney, Balcers, DeMelo, Sogaard, and Ostapchuk for Karlsson.

If Ottawa got that for Karlsson who was only 3 years older at the time and had 2 Norris trophies to his name, I don't think Arizona is gonna get our top 3 prospects with 1st and 2nd round picks added on.

Day After Thoughts: No need to panic yet

I will continue to link more as I find them, just have to step out right now. But right at the bottom of that article. I very vividly remember on multiple radio shows after each game the same thing was being said and it was even talked about a lot in the GDT's as well. Not enough traffic in front of price. Easy shots towards price. He's seeing the puck clean. It's not imaginary. We did not make it hard on Price at all.

Pretty much anything would offend them. Some are suggesting 4 1sts or equivalent prospects, a young roster player and not taking any salary back.

I don't think he's the second coming of Orr but I can see him as an eventual Rielly replacement.

I think he's good but no way would I be giving that up for him

Rielly is here for 8 more years and Sandin is a kid already killing 3rd pair usage, Liljegren is getting looks on the 2nd pair and Niemela and Kral are coming

I'd trade for a rental and keep those kids personally

You should see what people are offering for him, I feel like I'm on crazy pills just reading it

All that shows is that hockey media likes to create narratives, whether it's true or not, and prioritize blaming Leaf players over crediting opposing players.

Habs are screaming for a decent center he'll end up there.

Bergevin might have thrown enough cash at him but I doubt the new regime is going to give big bucks to a guy over 30. Ottawa is a great fit but it would take a outrageous overpay. Colorado seems most likely maybe the Rangers or Flames. Rutherford likes a big splash but that would take some manipulation. Darkhorse like the flyers or blues.

Yeah, but I guess I can't blame them though. If it was Rielly I would probably laugh at a lot of trade proposals made on here like we all do until we see the actual trade that happens.

Yeah but don't you think we do that too much? Crediting opposing players aka other teams goalies. Just seemed like all we have been saying is we just got goalied and that we should've won.

the thing is it’s not a created narrative. How many years have we’ve been saying we need players who drive the net. The leafs have never been a team that scores greasy goals or runs a lot of screen plays. Our guys usually score off the rush or are so good and just beat goalies clean.

I imagine Kadri will be able to play centre on a prominent line for the team he signs that next contract with. I also can't see this management team bringing him back for even that contract after trading him away (essentially twice).
