Definitely a possibility, just a signing I would’ve been very happy to see the Wild make.

Depending on if he preferred Minnesota or Nashville. But this is NHL 23 where players opinions and preferences don’t matter.
Hard to imagine him preferring us after getting traded, which is why I think it would've taken a bunch more money to get us in the conversation. Just a tough fit anyway, having $4.3M in space right now without counting Rossi yet. Where do we fit $4.5-$5M for Nino?

I agree if we are shooting to acquire a forward for more than a 4th line role he was near the top of my list of what was left for the role he would be filling.

Fenton traded him though, so I’m not sure how impactful that’d be. Perron got traded from the Blues a lot and he always ended up back there. I think you could make a strong sell to Nino on a 2 year deal (expiring Zucc contract in 2 years, guaranteed Top 6 spot with talented forwards for a lucrative extension, etc)

Adding Nino at $4M would’ve required Kulikov to be flipped and then things are definitely tighter the following season. Feel like there was flexibility though with Dumba’s contract expiring and everything else. Replacing Fiala with Nino @ a $4M cap hit seems like it’d be doable based on earlier cap projections.

He's not a great passer. Everyone wants this team to play fast, yet to play fast, you need to be good at both sending and receiving passes. Nino was part of the problem when we were a poor passing team. I don't want to see us go back in that direction.

Gaudreau would be fine in that spot. The defensive presence for Boldy/Rossi and a second faceoff guy on the line.

Gaudreau is another Rask, he’s a warm body being propped up by great wingers. He just isn’t criticized as heavily because he doesn’t get paid $4M. If he produces similarly this season as last season, I’ll be happy though. He is a righty and can win face offs (still want Rossi taking all faceoffs — we need him to develop as a center).

I don't see the Rask comparison at all. I think Gaudreau would be a pretty decent 3C on most teams based on what I saw from him last year. At least Gaudreau can skate :dunno:

Not saying he is Rask, but he’s playing a similar role to him. He’s a hell of a bargain at $1.2M, but I think he’s a 4th line player on a good team.

Since we already have the GREEF line, I don’t think a defensive-minded forward is who we need playing with Rossi and Boldy. I trust both of those players on both ends of the ice more than Dewar and Duhaime. Since it doesn’t seem like we’re adding any additional forward support, I’d rather see what Jost can do with Boldy/Rossi.

I think we are guaranteed to see both on that line. Guerin has said (or implied?) that Jost will get more opportunity than he did last season.

I still have a funny feeling that Kessel winds up on this team.

FLA is desperate for LHD. They have no cap space, a poor prospect pool, and no 1st rounders, but are a team that needs to compete now.

Kulikov(1@ 2.25M) + Greenway(3@3M) + 2nd for Reinhart(2@ 6,5M). Should we go as high as a 1st? I don't think so.

Kulikov, with his play being pretty disappointing at the end of the season, is going to being back at most a 3rd, realistically a 5th. He should not be a focal point of any trade isn't just a depth move.

And yes, a 1st is a given as the trade asks for so much more. If ignoring cap (I'm too lazy to do the math), you gonna start with mid 1st + Yurov/Ohgren + Greenway. Go from there

How would people feel about trying to trade for Teddy Blueger? Would help our penalty kill out, he’s a center, and improves our bottom six. His cap hit isn’t really big (2.2), but Pittsburgh is right at the cap.
