I think it was more likely that aliens abducted Guerin and are trolling everybody. I mean, if we're going to throw out wild conspiracies, why not?

I think the aliens are doing a pretty good job at imitating Guerin. This is the type of trade I expect GMBG to make. It's busy work to look like he's doing stuff, but accomplishing nothing.

Feel like they should’ve retained Kane’s contract for that 3rd rd pick. Don’t think there is a chance that extra retention slot is being used to facilitate a trade of one of our players.

Fingers crossed that the forward with term from Vancouver that Pittsburgh is acquiring is Boeser so we don't have that option going forward

I think back to his comments after trading Fiala. He didn't want to create a bidding war. Took the easy route. Do you think he could have fleeced Tampa like the Preds just did? Nope. Just feels like he's half-arsing it.

Out: Greenway, Goligoski, Fleury (buy-out, ~1.667m dead cap)
In: Hayes at 25% retained ($5.36M cap hit)

Next season:

kaprizov - hayes - zuccarello
boldy - rossi - hartman
foligno - eriksson ek - walker
duhaime (900k) - dewar - shaw (800k)

brodin - faber (900k)
middleton - spurgeon
merrill - addison (1x1.9m)

gustavsson (2x2.9m)
wallstedt (900k)

$100k cap space.

Do we hate this?

I'm no cap expert, but that cap space has me very concerned.

we just letting dumba walk i assume? i dont hate it as it seems to be an upgrade over the current roster with potentially more offense but until rossi. faber and walker show they can excell in the NHL it isnt doing much. it is more exciting at least with the potential.

Yep, hate it. Too many rookies. Only 1 FWD line worth anything. D-corps is reall weak.

Why couldnt we give him a new contract hes worth 2.5 a year.

I think 4 is borderline, but at least they're positionally spread out.

Can also swap Wallstedt for a 900k veteran and maybe Walker too.

It would have to be a steal with the $900k vets.

I see that listed group as a top line, a 3rd line, a 4th line, and a pray to God line. The d-corps as a 2B, 2B and a sheltered 3rd pair. The goalies are goalies: maybe good, maybe bad, but probably somewhere in the middle.
