I seen this last night when I was watching a movie and decided to wait till the morning to jump on.
I knew it was just a matter of time before Dubas over paid for a upgrade.

other GM's aren't stupid they knew just as well as the fans that Dubas' is backed against a wall.
they know he needs to see success in order to receive a contract extension,

Im happy none of our top prospects were included.

yup but Dubas had no choice. given his situation any team could just reject any offer he made because they knew he would up his offer. if Leafs dont see success Dubas will be let go or well thats what Shanny said.
this is Dubas last chance or he's fired. Im still little worried he's not done over paying

he overpaid in terms of assets but he targeted good players. this is a move the leafs needed to make.

Yeah, he folded for a rental, but given his situation, that's understandable.

But Hell Dubas is the GM and if he wants to Gamble on the same approach every playoffs then it's his and his coaching staffs jobs on the line.

He would be a good 3 C but Imagine O’Reilly 6’2 215 with Matthews 6’3 215. O’Reilly is a legit power forward and good luck messing around with Matthews when O’Reilly is out their.

Are the west playoff teams awake?! East just gets stronger and stronger. Leafs with ROR NYR with Tarasenko and NYI with Horvat.

You know Boston going to make a big add too

All those players went from the west to the east

Not often, they usually go for a first and some lower prospects. A bit more for the more sought after prospects and of course a team has to pay for retention. Dubas didn't get a Deal with ROR- he had to pay market value.
