Are you claiming inside info?
Maybe 🤔 Seattle still doesn’t k ow how much class Francis has and how good of a GM he will be . This trade will not make or break Seattle . Francis is respected around the league and it will payoff in the long run for Seattle.

Exactly. And if they get bounced earily cause they did nothing then their GM should be fired. Nothing worse than back to back first round bounce. This is the toronto market we are talking about their Media would love to have such a headline that the leafs bounced out earily in back to back years and make fun of the team.
Back to back to back to back, that's 4 straight years under dubas. At this point the team does it as is or the management get fired and the team is retooled around the first line, Rielly and our young players like Sandin, Liljegren, knies, Robertson and Niemela.

And how do you think they are going to do that when you have 3 players that take up 33m of the salary cap.

The only bad contract on this team is Mrazek and to a much lesser extent Tavares. Leafs have lots of assets on the roster both 22 and 23 first roundersand a lot of promising prospects not named knies niemela and Robertson. They can completely retool if they need to without issue.

Anaheim has the most cap space this summer in the entire league. Not even sure they can reach the cap floor with what they have on the roster. Toronto can use Anaheim as a dumpster depending on what Verbeek in Anaheim plans to do. But we want to get paid! Firsts, seconds, thirds, prospects…. All of it. No cheap crap Leafs

Good to know. I am not Francis but apparently you are both Dubas and Francis at the same time. No wonder you can get Gio for so cheap. But isn't that kind of a conflict of interest. Maybe you are Gio's agent too and can have him re-sign for vet minimum on the Leafs when he retires. :D

Get off your high horse and stop pretending that you know everything.
Gio will not sign in Toronto, he will be going back to Calgary his home away from home . Gio would of been gone by now if a team offered a 1st + for him . See Montreal jumped all over the 1st pick + they got for Chiarot .

Only bad contract the leafs have is Mrazek, Tavares at 11 mill isn't ideal but he's still a ppg center who is one of the top face off guys in the league. If the leafs retool they will be fine.

And eventually those prospects are going to want to get paid and leafs can't afford to pay them.

lol flames can't afford him even if we eat 50%. You have no idea what teams have offered or how neogiations take place... SO we should give gio to the leafs just to make him happy and take a low ball offer right now... If thats what it should be francis needs to be fired...

What’s called speculation? You saying Francis is stupid if offered a 1st and never took it . Florida probably offered Gio a 1st before Chiarot .

LOL if they actually did we would have taken it but they didn't and gave a first for Chiarot who has stats is lower than gio.

I think the problem isn't necessarily that the contracts are bad but they have 33M+ invested in 3 players. That is going to make hard to add good depth.

See nobody offered Seattle a 1st for Gio . Not Florida , not Tampa , not Boston , not Carolina, not Colorado, not anyone . So we are back at a 2nd . Who’s the best Dman left ? They are worth a 2nd +

Exactly. I am unsure if you understand what speculation means. When you say things like maybe and are trying to predict something, its not fact. Its speculation. Which is exactly what you are doing. Infact it is what all of us are doing.

Did Philly do good with the Giroux trade ? No GM is staying . Because that’s where he wanted to go

My point is besides their star players every contract on the team can be moved for decent to great value besides Mrazek. Knies and Aubresse will be along shortly, Robertson is playing now and Sandin and Liljegren have been excellent this year. Niemela may be on the team next year as well as steeves. We have tons of young quality depth to replace outgoing players to free up cap to re make the roster.

Its called being paitent. Why give up first now when you can wait till Monday and see if seattle will drop the asking price and same can be said about seattle waiting till monday to see what the offer is... That's how the deadlines work...

Really someone offers you a million dollars, you wait and see if you can get more , when others already got 2 mil and more . Price is going down . Remember you also were offered 2 mil 1st .
