Maybe the past 20 games he's had a change of heart. Many would. Keep him if he has his heart set on staying though. I'd even sign him to another 1 year deal with a slight raise if he would sign for 1M or less.

Ok ya I guess that’s fair. If he really wants to go somewhere let him go and touch base in July.

But if he wants to stay don’t force him out. Would be brutal for future ufa

holy crap you can't seriously be advocating for a Spezza trade. Sounds like a great way to turn off every veteran FA for awhile.

Hey hometown kids, don't come here for a minimum salary and vastly overperform, we'll ship you out! We have too many leaders and feel-good stories on this team already, clearly.

Spezza has shown sparks of his old self. Especially his willingness to fire shots.

I'd say there is little upside to trading him. What will you get in return? He might even do well on a line with Clifford.

There's little risk there for a 10-11 min. a game player at his salary. As long as he is staying positive and accepting his role at his age. He is getting far more points with less ice time. He's done his part. He just needs to stop taking lazy penalties from time to time. Keep it simple, use his shot more (he has of late) rather than trying to score as he would have 10 years ago.

He's a spy... will have intel on the Panthers for their upcoming games. Brilliant move by Dubas. Playoffs are a lock now....

Just need someone from the Bruins and TB now.

Hopefully one of the Canadian teams gets to the finals so we can have 7 home games.

Who needs a pro scouting department? We do, apparently.

its like a lesser impactful version of
Greg McKegg for Zach hyman

edit: in terms of barely NHLer for Nhler who turned into a high level nhler. hopefully lighting strikes twice and Malgin takes a leap

Grit wasn't the problem and really never was. Funny enough the lack of skill is the problem and this trade helps that. Marchment isn't very good so I like this deal.

Malgin teammates with Matthews in Zurich...both about the same age. Very interesting.

Marner back with JT.

Nylander to 3C.

Malgin RH shot...plays RW....opening on Auston's right side.

Kerfoot deal imminent. E5

This like the Lindholm/Petan swap. Limited upside players in Marchment/Lindholm moved for a high skilled forward struggling to produce consistently in the NHL in Petan/Malgin.
