Sounds like a third team is involved which likely means retention, which makes this a lot better if Carlo is at a big discount for another two yeas.

Only real concern is management once again prioritizing depth and defence for a team that routinely forgets how to score goals in the playoffs.

Well, I can say my least favorite bruins Dman is now officially gone. I only wish we got a 1st +for him.

Not familiar with the Leafs system so I have no idea the fairness of this trade.
Floor is 3C, ceiling 2C

Decent prospect, decent size not to overly physical but has hockey IQ. I think he probably ends up as the 2C in Boston at some point.

I think Toronto fans are going to be incredibly underwhelmed by Carlo. He is the softest, smallest playing "big" D man I've ever seen. Probably has something to do with timidness from having like 7 bad concussions in his career but man he gets absolutely lit up by any forecheck or pressure in the D zone. He's good at positioning and has a good stick but teams like Florida and Tampa (Leafs rivals and likely playoff opponents -- maybe even could have to get by both) will absolutely destroy this guy. And he provides zero offense, not that the Leafs need that, but if he's getting lit up by the forecheck every shift how is he helping the team?

As a leafs fan, this common sentiment from B’s fans worries me. Most teams have pretty valid opinions on their players

I think Carlo will always be underrated because he is so, so boring to watch. He's very good at defensive hockey, a solid #2 RD, and a good #1 PK guy.

...buuuuuuuut he's big and slowesh and not mean at all. He has a long history of BAD head injuries and is in my opinion one hit away from retiring at all times. The only time you notice him is when he screws up. His best games are when you're checking the box score to see if he was playing.

He is good and your team is better now, but on a long enough timeline it will be less and less enjoyable to watch.

If Carlo continues to play like he has this season the Leafs got absolutely hosed, he’s been putrid for the Bruins

If they get previous versions this is a good trade

Fire Briere immediately
