Sounds like a third team is involved which likely means retention, which makes this a lot better if Carlo is at a big discount for another two yeas.

Only real concern is management once again prioritizing depth and defence for a team that routinely forgets how to score goals in the playoffs.

This is my biggest concern. I believe they need offense from the back end, they need goal scoring up front

His ceiling is a decent 2C. More likely a solid 3C.

Carlo is a great guy, but multiple concussion and he's not physical anymore. He's decent. But has taken steps back every year. If he could bring back his snarl and use his size he'd be phenomenal. But he doesn't.

Decent prospect, decent size not to overly physical but has hockey IQ. I think he probably ends up as the 2C in Boston at some point.

Floor is a 4C as per every prospect rating system you find on the internet. The less than 1% ceiling is a 2C most likely out come is a 3C. But since it is Toronto trading to Boston he is probably goign to turn into a 1C. Last two trades they have made were the Rask and Kessel trades.

Well the Leafs just paid a 1st and a blue chip prospect for 4th liner Laughton.

Minton is going to be a solid #2 C. I guess he is worth 3 firsts.

Minten never did a whole lot for me....safe bet to have a NHL career but doubt there is much offensive potential. Adding the 1st makes this a highly questionable trade.
