That package was 100% assuming he is extended, but a 1-2 punch of Hertl Suzuki would be insane. Both are really good 2 way players and both could be the 1C on a lot of teams. The Habs top 9 would be

Toffoli - Suzuki - Caufield
Hoffman - Hertl - Gallagher
Drouin - Evans - Anderson

That looks pretty solid.
Suzuki wouldn't be a 1c on a lot of teams, good Lord. He has a career high 41 points and 15 goals. Hertl would be instantly your best player.

 1st round pick and a player that has 5 points in 28 NHL career games for Tomas Hertl. What a freaking joke.
Look at what Reinhart got (late 1st and meh goalie prospect) and than facctor in contract and age (for similar production). And realize Hertl isn't going to fetch that much more

Rule of thumb is 3 late "firsts":

1) An established young NHLer with some upside but nothing special; the kind of player who would go late first/early 2nd in a redraft.
2) A solid young prospect drafted in the last 1-2 years; the kind of prospect drafted in the late first round.
3) A first-round pick in a future draft, likely to be late from any team that's looking to add a player like Hertl.

The Oil examine your criteria and offer:

1) Yamamoto
2) Borgault (2021 1st)
3) 2022 1st

Would need 50% retention on Hertl, but can’t see that being an issue.

Roll with top 6 of:

Hyman-McDavid-Drai
Nuge-Hertl-Puljujarvi

Reinhart got a late 1st and a B level goalie prospect.

Reinhart and Hertl have a similar production over the past 2 seasons, Why on earth is Hertl worth twice as much?

People need to look at the market value of the player, not what they hope to get

Hertl is a possession monster. He is not a one dimensional scorer. Gotta watch games and not just read stats

I'm actually willing to bet they put up fairly close point totals next year. Guessing Suzuki is 65-75 and Hertl would be 70 - 80.

Both those lines would be operating as a 1.5 with each other.

41 points in 56 games is a 60 point pace as a sophmore. Now I know Pace isn't all telling so let's add his playoff numbers (where it's harder to score) it goes to 57 in 78 games. Again almost 60. So expecting 65+ out of Thicc Nick next year is reasonable. Considering Hertls career high is 73 excuse me for having then as effectively interchangeable 1 and 2 Cs

Bruins probably one of the three teams Hertl would agree to be traded to.

1st + Debrusk + prospect for Hertl

Until you know who is on that list -- and if he's willing to expand it -- it's impossible to say what his value is.
