Yes he is. He has the 6th most PP ice time/ game on the Caps. But sure, that's not alot considering Ovechkin, Carlson, Bäckström, Oshie and Kuznetzov are out there basically the whole time.

It's nice to see Wilson is starting to clean up his game. I guess when the suspensions are starting to accumulate up to 1/4th of a season, even he understands it's unsustainable to keep throwing cheap shots. He and the Caps finally got the memo.

I see more Caps games than I want being near Annapolis and I've seen him on the PP. I checked my facts as you asked and noted Wilson does have 3 PP goals so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to take your own advice.

The Tom Wilson of today, who has to tread lightly around the ice, isn't as much of a factor without his ability to injure an opposing 3rd or 4th liner with an illegal hit. So he's a 20-25 goal first line winger.

What is the point of this thread? Yes, Wilson can be a good player in the NHL. I don't think anyone disputes that fact. But, when discussing this player, it is impossible to avoid the fact that he is a notorious cement head.

Hertl is pretty much the best all-round forward on the second best team in the league. Wilson is good. He's not that good.

Do you listen to NHL podcasts with GM's and ex GM's on them? Please tell me how much Tomas Hertl comes up and how other teams want a player like that versus how much Tom Wilson comes up in conversations. It's all there if you want to see for yourself.

I guarantee if you asked all 31 teams plus Seattle whether they'd rather have either of those other two players or Tom Wilson, it'd be pretty well unanimous for Tom Wilson.

I'm a huge Wilson fan and defend him all the time, but come on... Teravainen or Hertl are a much better choice.

You're talking about two ~ppg players or a 55pt (pace) player. Hitting is not THAT important anymore.
