Gauthier drafted Tinordi, traded up for him even. He also traded Halak for Eller, brought over Emelin and Diaz, gave DD his chance...

Can we stop with the Gauthier bashing? He's more responsible for tis first place team than MB is....
Gauthier had some good moves... but he still sucked as a GM.

He did a lot more.

By removing Martin and putting RC, he made sure we would tank.
So he was the cause of our picks: Galchenyuk and Collberg.

On the way down, he managed to get two more second round picks.

He also drafted Gallagher, Beaulieu, Dietz, Nygren, etc.

He was never able to communicate but he did many good moves.

Some are complaining about BG but do not understand what he did.
Not Trying to defend him here, but he did some bad and some good.

Unfortunately, most here know better that him...:shakehead:shakehead:shakehead

go watch Mark Tinordi fight, you will see the difference.

The question is, how good of a fighter was Mark when he was the same age as Jarred? Perhaps that would be a better indicated. Mark played in the league for years, I expect he developed in many ways.

Just watched some Mark Tinordi fights, and he wasn't that great a fighter either. He seemed to have problems locking up his opponents punching arm, but they seem to always restrict his arm very well. Seemed that he lacked some of the finer points of fighting, and made up with it by just being a rock!

I'm hoping the day comes when Chara whinces at the prospect of maybe having to maybe fight Tinordi. And, for those of you who believe that super strong Chara has no fear over anyone. Well, I recall he wasn't keen on fighting Laraque. And everytime he locked horns with Lindros, he just grabbed his jersey while having a semi-scared look on his face. Chara might have 8 inches on Eric but I suspect that didn't matter to Chara. He probably was concerned with the potential blows that Lindros could deliver. One might be 6' 9" 250 lbs, but the head & skull are still the same size as everyone elses; susceptible to getting damaged with the Big E's crushing punches. Chara always whinced when locking up with Big 88.

1) Don't compare Tinordi to Laraque.
2) Don't compare Tinordi tp Lindros.
3) Don't compare Tinordi to Chara
4) Bigger people actually have bigger heads and skulls on average.
5) Lindros was 6'4", not 6'1"
6) Chara did fight Laraque... multiples times in 1 game. It was a draw.

Tinordi is 6'6" and currently lanky. He may be a great fighter one day, but right now he's a good fighter and I'd rather he stay away from Orr, Lucic, Carkner, etc. He may put on 20 lbs and better technique in the next 3 or 4 years... and by that time Chara might be retired.

Some people seem a bit worried. I don't think he will be up for very long. They likely want to just give him a taste of the NHL in order for him to understand just how elevated his game has to be to stay in the big league. Pretty much just what they did with Pateryn, so people shouldn't worry too much. Tinordi will be well protected like Pateryn was.

This (the above). Nothing but a smart thing to do...gives an idea of what the NHL pace is like and it's also a reward for his play with the Bulldogs, etc. Can't miss the debut of Tinordi.

I'm hoping he will be a tougher/more mobile version of Hal Gill...just need some patience. So...hoping he will be able to one day move players with ease from around our crease area and be a PK specialist and solid for 5 on 5...will take up a lot of space with his size and reach. We are finally getting bigger thanks to Tinordi!! (he's what? 6'6 and 210-215lbs?!!). I'm predicting he'll be a #5-6 dman for us very soon and then with time/experience... a top 3-4 shutdown dman.

If it were up to me:
Bouillon-Subban
Markov-Emelin
Tinordi-Gorges

OR, Tinordi will play with Bouillon and Gorges...

I don't like our #7-8 dmen (unfortunately injuries happen)...I just don't feel safe with them...and they're not built for playoffs (maybe only for PP?)...we have to add a solid/tall/big/gutsy/gritty #4 or #5 dman imo. (without overpaying, especially for a #5-6 dman....doesn't have to be a big name...just someone who can get the job done...to help Gorges and Subban with their ice-time).

p.s.: Kaberle must be so pissed off right now...I can almost see the smoke coming out of his ears (he's probably wishing the Leafs would take him, but the Leafs are stuck with Mike ''AHL'' Komisarek's expensive/ludicrous contract). Kaberle might get another chance to boost his value...or Bergevin will try to unload him for a 4th or 5th Rnd Pick (I'll high five Bergevin if he can get a 3rd Rnd Pick for Kaberle).

Okay... is anyone else here sick of this fetish for measuring each prospect by their fighting ability??

The hell with how Tinordi plays defense or shuts down the opposing forwards or jibes with our system or develops his skills or helps us win frikkin' hockey games - it's all about who he fights.

Caveman/ogre-Chara fought fax-machine-Laraque?

I don't remember this, but I'll believe you since you say so.
And I agree...it's way too early for Tinordi to fight an Orr, Lucic or Carkner. And he has too much value to fight nobodies like an Orr.
If Tinordi will try to remove a player from the game it should be someone like Lucic, but again....too early to attempt this.

I would think Laraque would destroy Chara or do some damage...and I wouldn't feel bad since Chara almost killed our star power forward with a killer wrister (Pacioretty) and got away with it.

Where's McSorley when you need him?! (won't rest until Chara retires or is forced to from an injury).

You have the best avatar on the forum.

I have to admit...I'm jealous of Toshio's avatar as well.
(very young PK SuBban with a wide smile! classic pic of the best dman in the history of the Habs or for now...the most entertaining, most complete and modern dman I have ever seen in a Hab jersey).

I should find a new avatar (Subban pic!).

Go Habs Go!!
Go Tinordi go!!

2 years from now (or less):
Tinordi-PK Subban
Beaulieu-Diaz
Gorges-Ellis
Emelin
J.Subban
Thrower

If people want Perry...Markov has to go, imo.
Perry will want 6-7mil...but first we have to pay PK Subban what he deserves (huge pay day coming up). PK should be tied with Price and Perry shouldn't make more...let's see if he really is a Hab fan.
And then...we have to pay Eller, Gallagher, Galchenyuk sooner than later,etc,etc...
No more $5.75mil for Markov, unless we don't get Perry and just resign Markov.
I'm worried that Toronto will try to get Perry...hopefully Perry really is a Hab fan...'cause a Hab fan shouldn't play for the Leafs, imo.

Unless MT change his matching, Tinordi will be paired with an puck mover.
So expect:
Markov - Emelin
Tinordi - Subban
Bouillon - Gorges

Edit: Tinordi - Diaz would also fit but Diaz is still injured...
Another option:
Tinordi - Boulion
Gorges - Subban

Chara usually hugs it out when he knows he will get decked.

is he a nasty SOB?

not really imo, but of course everyones definition of a nasty sob will be different.

Does he have a mean streak, now?

All the videos I watched of him indicated that he was a big *****cat, like another Hall Gill. Big but doesn't intimidate anybody. Opponents sure didn't seem scared of him and had no issues initiating scrums around him after the whistle.

I want him to pack some muscle as he appears to be rail-thin and he needs to be very very aggressive so he can use his size to his advantage.

I don't think he has much of a mean streak at htis point. He's not soft though and can throw some big hits, just not something he does night in and night out. He does look very thin still but give it a few years and hopefully he'll fill out a good bit.

If he's 6'6 218 lbs, I'm not too worried since Pronger played at 6'6 220 lbs and I don't I've seen him being overpowered much .

Has Tinordi shot got better ?

I wouldn't say his shot got better but he doesn't use it all that much.

well i heard an interview with Sylvain Lefebvre a while ago saying Tinordi was probably the best skater on the team in a straight line

His skating may be the biggest surprise to me this year, he really moves well out there.

if his best assets are his fighting abilities then he's not worth getting excited over.

His best assets are his defensive zone play, size, mobility, skating. He excels on the PK, blocking shots, clearing the crease.

I'm hoping the day comes when Chara whinces at the prospect of maybe having to maybe fight Tinordi.

I doubt that day ever comes.

Well it seems that it is going to be:
Markov - Emelin
Tinordi - Boulion
Gorges - Subban

I guess this is going to be a tough pair to handle.

Moen - White - Armstrong
Tinordi - Bouillon
Should be able to handle themselves...

So will Tinordi play on the right or on the left?

Seems like they tried both left and right side for him at practice:

Chantal Machabee ‏@ChantalMachabee
Tinordi qui avait commencé l'entraînement à gauche de Bouillon, joue maintenant à droite...#CH

I can't recall Tinordi playing RD during those Dogs games we saw on TV during the lockout. Maybe 1 time when he was paired with Beaulieu, although it may have been Nate on RD.

This guy has got to be the prospect that intrigues me the most . He is touted to be exactly what we need , and can't wait to see this stud play a meaningful habs game
