Knowing that your idiot GM gave a 2nd for Kulak, how could you possibly believe this
My GM paid a high price for Lehkonen but at least he got a good middle six winger an PK specialist.

dermott got a third. This guy fetches less or about the same.

Then the Leafs aren't moving him, not like they should anyways. As mentioned he leads the team in every metric that counts minus TOI/GP which he has no control over. 22 year old Dmen who control expected goals the way he does and are producing at a 33 point pace playing 15 minutes a game with 4 minutes total of powerplay time on the season should NEVER be available for trade.

Then don’t trade him. But if you do, 3rd round pick should be the expectation.

This is an open forum.

Calling a player a bottom pairing defenseman is trash talking nowadays. Ok.

Looks like you have some issues.
Yeah its open sure. but all you guys ever do here is spread negativity and your always in leafs related threads even if its not your team. I see all your names way too often.
you guys go out of your way to put down any player that has to do with this franchise.
the bracco comments, being nothing more than a bottom pairing dman not even close to top 4. he's going to become a healthy scratch in a couple years......
its just same shit bigger pile with most of these takes.
I mean thanks for stopping by but you wouldnt be happy if you kept seeing fans from other teams put down your players for the sake of putting them down

Don't even bother with them. They hate the leafs more then they like their own teams. Its and odd fixation that some posters have with the leafs, and I doubt we will ever truly know why.

Anyways, Liljegren's ice time is slowly increasing which is nice. The Leafs d-corps is deep for once. But Lily is playing a minute on the pk and just started getting on the #2 pp unit for the Leafs as well. He's been trusted in all situations hockey. Pretty good for a rookie.

I would step aside from the computer. If anything related to the Maple Leafs doesn’t smell like roses than you seem to become fragile.

Auston Matthews is an awesome player. Hopefully that will cheer you up, but my advise still stands.

Liljegren has a lot more value to the Leafs than he does in a trade until his reputation catches up with his play. At 5 on 5 he leads all Leafs defensemen in xGF%, GF%, corsi%, fenwick%, assists/60, points/60, is 10% points clear of any other dman in terms of xGf% paired with Rielly and is the only defenseman in the NHL to feature on 3 of the NHL's top 20 D pairings by xGf% at 5 on 5 with a minimum of 100 minutes played together. Of those 3 pairings, he is a member of 2 of the league's top six. The only thing stopping people from seeing how good he is is that his TOI is low and he hasn't played a single second on the powerplay.

This reads like a post about Dermott a couple years ago. No one is impressed by defensemen doing well while being protected with limited ice time.

Or and hear me out, you haven't watched the player progress over the last few years, and your just in here to pile on with your lazy and ignorant assessment.
This post is also familiar! Look sometimes young shelter D men thrive when the training wheels are off. Adam Fox obviously is a great recent example of this. Sometimes they don’t like Dermott. You can’t know until it happens.

I never commented on Liljegrens future potential negatively or positively. I'm just tired of posters with an obvious agenda coming in to spew nonsense about a player they don't follow with lazy arguments and no facts. Liljegren could regress next year or progress even further then he has already, who knows. I'm talking about what he's done to get here and how he is playing this year. He looks very good and has played extremely well.

I am alright with it personally. It's when they regress like Dermott did and don't impress at all for 3 straight seasons after it that bothers me.

If Liljegren goes backwards like Dermott did, obviously we'll have an issue and at that point and not a moment before, a team out of the playoffs is welcome to have him for a 3rd rd. pick. Right now, considering what we know we are pretty excited to have a mid-1st round pick in the lineup and producing at a high level as a rookie, his value irregardless of the other former Toronto Maple Leaf hockey player Travis Dermott is quite high at this moment in time. Like, with every player, he has the opportunity to boost or lose value because of an increased or decreased level of performance. If he keeps producing at this clip with how rounded his game is, like Dermott could not, he certainly should improve his total minutes played.

Not every young defenseman that plays for Toronto is going to be Travis Dermott. But, we'll all just be pessimistic about it and assume the worst.

I know you're a troll. But, I'll point out this one thing. If we were to look specifically at Liljegren's draft, there is 1 NHL player out of 32 possible selections in round 3. Morgan Geekie he plays for an expansion team. So, in theory you're telling us that we should expect a 1 in 32 chance at a Morgan Geekie level player in return for a rookie defenseman that has 20 points in 50 games?

Tempting, I do admit.

Not to mention you always give up more potential in any Trade. Several picks for 1 player is very common. I’d say liljegren has held his draft value very well. As has Sandin. Which is why it makes people very angry the leafs draft and develop well.

To end the debate here it’s safe to say the leafs are not trading Liljegren for anything less than an established RHD who plays above Holl and on a team friendly contract-which would never happen.

To most of my TML brethren to think his value at this point even if sheltered is a third is laughable. Don’t engage and waste your time. No GM from an organization would trade a player that young, with those metrics regardless if he is sheltered or not for anything less than a blue chip prospect or a top end pick and I mean top 15 or higher. The potential is too high to walk away from. As for those using Dermott as an example regarding regression he was injured which is why he regressed. No different than Monahan who has had a monumental fall from grace due to injuries. It happens it’s sports.
