Feel bad for the guy. With Russia out, Germany have had a relatively easy group. They could easily have a shot at a medal if things go their way

Could be problematic with a bad knee, he will need lots of rehab before next season to strengthen it, hopefully there are no small tears. Could potentially change things. I had a small tear that they only found when they x-rayed it from behind the knee, MRI didn't see it nor all the x-rays from the front & sides. This is the last thing Ottawa needed going into next yr, they need a healthy team & a healthy Stutzle.

An MRI couldn't see it but an x-ray did???? that's crazy.

He has to lay off the east/west dekes in the slot with those knees of his sticking out or he will have a hard time and a short career.

Fair to compare 18-19 year old Stutzle v Stamkos - difference is Stamkos has played with 2 of the best ever in St Louis and Kucherov his entire career and has great numbers because of it. It’s not a fair comparison with the career Stamkos has had but you also can’t remove the fact Stamkos was playing with league MVPs his entire career. But both players have similar competitive, speed, frame at the same age, stamkos being a better finisher at the same age, but want to see Timmy playing with a possible MVP (Batherson/Tkachuk) next season.

Gotta get him a winger. Can’t wait for Giroux to freaking elevate our young future superstar to a new level.

That video above showed just how dynamic Stutzle was to start the season but since he was snake bitten his stats seemed like he was a non-factor when he was anything but.

We are ridiculously fortunate to have him. And soon we will have impact D in Sanderson.

We could do a lot worse than Connor Brown but boy the amount of times I cringed seeing Brown and Paul as his linemates there… one could def say that helped him improve defensively a lot… where Stutzle was among our best 2 way forwards in second half of the season.

Stutzle looks like he could be primed for a breakout season. He has shown probably his best chemistry with Batherson. Who else on the sens could complement Tim?

Even looking outside the organization, I'm curious what type of players might mesh well with Stutzle and complement him well on a line.

Dream scenario is Joseph keeps the chemistry we saw with Brady and Norris and Bath plays with Stutzle and a top 6 pick up

Great video. Great for everyone that is a fan of Stützle or have cooled down on him since they haven't seen him play in a while. A whole hour of points, chances, hits, dangles, and more. What a fantastic player.

You watch him all year and you don't forget how great he is but maybe you forget how many tools he has. He can beat defenders in every way imaginable. He can manipulate his way through the NZ using his feet or his hands. He can beat you wide on the entry, he can cut across the middle and find a teammate or he can work a give and go on the entry. He can control the puck on the perimeter, circling the zone waiting for a lane to open or cutting back making lanes open. But he can also attack the middle of the ice with a curl and drag getting off a good shot, or make a pass through the triangle on the tape.

I think my favourite play of his is perhaps his goal line shot where he is turning the corner on a defender and that puck is so far in front of him but he is able to fire off a hard and accurate shot over the shoulder like he did to Martin Jones this year and Michael Hutchinson last year. He's had some other close calls with that shot. And as I said he can beat you every way imaginable, he has the vision to make a pass on the tape in that exact scenario if it's there as he did to set up Connor Brown vs Wpg.

I'd like to see Batherson play left wing (shoots right) with Tim.
If you look at the video of all Bath goals for the season you'll see he's deadly from that side.
He also did a great Ovi impression on the left wing with Barzal feeding him at the WCs.

And I wouldn't mind Brown playing RW with them - I think it would be a good fit.

I think Perron would be an unreal fit with Stutzle. Elite skill, hockey sense and scoring ability while being good down low. A puck hound in Formenton or Joseph to get them the biscuit. Would make for an unreal second line. Plus having a real veteran with him would be great. Perron plays on the edge alot like Stutzle and Formenton would be a great mentor.

3 years 5.5 million for the Frenchman

Tkachuk Norris Batherson
Formenton Stutzle Perron
Joseph Pinto Brown
Kelly Kastelic Watson

.

That could work. For a bit but he turns 35. Bit of a risk there.

I'm not really sure what the answer is.

The net benefit to the team is not maximizing Stutzle's production but maximizing wins.

If that means he carries a heavy load with weaker players while our previous year's 1st line remains intact, then that's the way it goes.

I suspect we'll see a number of different looks.
