Savoie with 3 goals in 2 games since he's returned to Bakersfield. If he keeps it up we could see him again in a scoring role. Ideally Hyman and Arvidsson build off of strong games and keep scoring as well. Other than PKing, Savoie > Brown and Kapanen IMO.

I agree but the Janmark-Rico-Brown trio has to be better. Also not convinced Podz-Arvi are the answer with Drai. Playing Frederic in top six could work and convince him to resign.

Last playoffs,Perry and Kane played together. Who was the center? At this point, we don’t know what we’ve got in Evander so expect him to be 4th line energy.

Yeah I’m keen to see him have a few looks with Drai. Arvi and Podz are offensive black holes with him and it sucks to have him stapled to two at once. Of course you could try the third best scorer on the team with him … but Knoblauch.

Kane is the Wildcard. Could easily push Podkolzin down. I don’t have much for expectations for him though. Unless he looks really good right off the hop I see him more on third line.

Emberson might play over Klingberg. I am guessing Klingberg is going to get a run of games down the stretch once hes healthy.

Yeah I’m 50/50 if he ever plays another game as an Oiler but man what a great bonus if he’s ready for 4th line duty for game one of round one and line 2 by the conference final ?

Perry is having a good season. Try him and Frederic on Drai’s wings. Keep Jones in bottom six for energy and sit those guys in rotation who have tailed off (Podz,Janmark,Brown, Arvi and Henrique)He who rises up, including Kane, get the playoff opportunity

He's had a very strong season and I knocked the shit out of him last year.

I will be praying he's reignited like he was when was younger and we called him and Poolparty some really tall dudes who can't skate, he took that personally and went and kicked ass. So I watch no with hate but with actual joy when he scores cause its awesome and I feel good for him. Just can't shake the feeling that Chiapet was the worst GM of all time and Ken was no better. Ugh! GO team but like I said I will watch with optimism and with a bit of
bet they can't do it" as I watch them do it.

One of the big takeaways of playing around with potential lineups is that there are going to be a few guys very hungry to get into the lineup. I really hope to see a few guys rotated in depending on who is going or not going.

The only lineup guarantee is that Jeff Skinner will have to wait until next season to play in his first playoff game after he signs with another team.

If I had to guess

I hope they give Savoie some more games to push someone down to the third line. I think Podkolzin and Arviddson aren’t solutions there.

Kane is a wildcard. He could be in top 6. Theres not much competition for him to pass. My expectations are kinda low for him though after so many surgeries.

I’d really like to see Brown and Janmark off the roster at this point. Theres a chance that Jones or Savoie push them off.

Lastly I would say it important that Knoblauch finds a way to get more of these guys going.

I don’t think JSkinner should be sitting for Brown or Janmark. Our PK is abysmal and shouldn’t be the reason why they stay in.

I could see Emberson/Klingberg swapped in depending on the match up and also depending if Klingberg improves with time.

I see Kane as more of a 4th line player right now. He’s technically missed 2 years of hockey since his wrist was destroyed so you can’t really expect him to be top 6 ready.

What I'm hoping to see...

Frederic-McDavid-Arvidsson
Kane-Henrique-Podz
Janmark-Kapanen-Perry

RNH-McDavid-Hyman is already ice cold this season, and they've typically never been a great playoff line. Swapping McDavid and Drai make a lot of sense though, as Drai and Hyman are big enough to fight through checks and all 3 already have years of chemistry.

On the 2nd line you give McDavid (and RV) your biggest body guard to deal with any playoff shenanigans.
The plan to would be to move Kane up to this line once/if his game settles in.

I really like the idea of Podz with either Kane or Fred on the 3rd line, which gives you a very clear physical heartbeat for the team. Last year we saw Kane-Henrique-Foegele look good down the stretch, same with Kane-Henrique-Holloway during the Dallas series; this line grows on that idea.

Perry gives you a nice pivot piece. He's earned the 1st look, but it's super easy to swap him for Jones if you need more beef in the lineup; or Brown/Ryan/Philp/Hamblin if you want on an extra PK'er and/or upgrade on Kap's faceoffs; or even Skinner, if you want a different look skill-wise.


On defence...

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-Walman
Kulak-Emberson

No surprises, though I wouldn't be afraid to swap Kulak and Ekholm if they end up vs. a super speedy team and make sure each pairing has one guy that can move well.
Though the west doesn't really have one of those this year.


One thing I really like is the diversity of the depth this year. PKer's out? Well you've got Brown/Ryan/Philp ready to go; Scorer? you have Skinner and Savoie at the ready; Physical play? Max Jones is there.

Even on defence, Klingberg can jump in for Bouchard or Walman. I have the feeling we'll see Regula down the stretch here, who I think would be the replacement for Ekholm or Nurse's size. Stecher gives you a backup to Kulak and Emberson's skating and safe/simple plays
