I only see 4 centres there. Paul is a winger, and White is gone if we want to keep Brown and Paul, or bring in some external top line help. Even if we keep White, he's gonna be a winger.

I think pinto and white center thr bottom 6 for sure next season. Whoever plays better or has better chemistry with their linemates gets more ice time.

White was looking really good before the injury, I think the sens need to see how he preforms for a season before they decide to buy him out or not.

Maybe you haven't noticed Paul playing centre lately or for the last number of games almost since we started losing centres really. He's looked great at centre with Tkachuk & C. Brown & looked great with Formenton & C. Brown as well. Unless White is bought out or traded which is going to be difficult given he hasn't played much over the last few yrs being injured a lot & he still has another 3 yrs left on his contract. That's a boig contract with a lot of term for a guy who seems injury prone & hasn't proven anything yet. I don't think anything is written is stone & all options are on the table.

White is a great candidate for a buyout over the summer. It will only cost $875,000 for 6 years and they save $3.875 million in salary for the first 2 years and $5,375 million in year 3. And they save $3.875 cap all 3 years.

Agreed, so is MDZ, but will they do it? I'm quite sure those numbers will impress the owner though.

If by real good you mean a 3rd line C, then sure. If Sens brass really want to bring in help to our top 6 next year, then I just see no way White stays.

he was <43% on draws last year, really struggles with passing or maintaining possession, and can’t separate the puck from anyone with his body or stick … what exactly do you think makes him a very good 3C or whatever ?

We now have young creative players who project to be excellent NHL centers regardless of what criteria you evaluate them on.

7th on the team in points/60 last year, 7th in shooting %, 2nd in Corsi, T-2 in Fenwick. For 5.25 or whatever that's really great value.

1/10 for the night. He's been less notable recently because he is trying to use more body and less speed/skill game. He is trying to emulate his idol Drai, no doubt, but he does not have the strength yet. Stutzle is more effective, in this junction of his career, moving his feet quickly and utilizing his teammates more with quick touches unless he is in open ice.

What does 1/10 mean in the context of my post?

I think we have waited long enough for White to perform. He is injury prone. No need to wait some more. Should buy him out asap.

Not a surprise for a guy on PP2 … personally I think guys like Batherson for $5 and Brown for $4 are really great values - but hey … each their own.

More than anything I think it’s great you put your name beside a comment like that. That takes courage.

Well the great thing is I don't have to provide any proof to substantiate my claim so it doesn't really matter what I say. You know?

If you were to redo that 2020 draft right now, who would be your top 5?
Right now some combination of
Stu, Sanderson, Raymond, Mercer, Quinn or Lundell.

I have no visibility on Byfield or Holtz so it’s hard to say where they would fit.

The physical strength isn't quite there yet but he has actually been pretty damn physical this year. He has 79 hits in 49 games played and he has actually thrown a few big hits this season. I think if he was physically stronger there would be a lot more talk about his physicality and how he is becoming nasty to play against. After drafting him and seeing him at the WJC I remember hoping we could develop him into an Ovechkin type (in terms of having comparable physicality to Ovie) and from watching him this season that potential is seeming increasingly realistic.

Ovechkin is just one a different level though when it comes to a big and heavy player that can skill skate and be elite.

Ovechkin is built pretty thick and I feel like in order for Timmy to get that type of strength and he would have to put on way more muscle and I am not sure that it would not affect his overall quickness and speed.

Very few players in NHL history can be both heavy and fast like Ovechkin is.

I would say a Ryan Getzlaf might be more of a comparison but I do think Stützle is a better skater than Getzlaf.

I really don't see Getzlaf at all... He's a way better skater and not comparable in terms of playmaking. Are you just using him in terms of physicality?

I wonder whats the over/under on Timmy reaching 20 goals (or greater)?
If you mean you are setting the over/under at 20 then you’ve found a fantastic number. Heart says over head says under.

Stutzle skills wise is a bonafide top 10 centres in the league. He has to be used properly. We need a coach in a fold like Martin St. Louis. Whose educational hockey videos I really enjoy to watch. DJ with his tough guy approach to the game costed us already 3 centres. Stutzle has to freewheel. And along time ago for his development he had to play with another bonafide top ten winger. Wingers much easier to acquire. Even better winger than Kevin Fiala, which is projected to have 30 goals this season and 72 points. Even with Fiala Stutzle will explode to 30-35 goals a season.
