Scary to think he's doing this while still not properly developed physically--which is going to be a big part of his game.
Will be a more lethal C version of Hossa.
I kind of hate to agree given Hossa was one of the better defensive wingers of his era, but it's hard not to immediately think of a young Marian when watching Timmy.
At times last season I would criticize Tim by calling him "more Havlat than Hossa" which was more fo a backhanded compliment than an outright criticism of his play. The flash and skill have always been there, but his willingness to engage physically and his play on the PK this year have me saying "he's more Hossa than Havlat" more often than not this year.
You can count on one hand the number of players in franchise history who have shown this much skill this early in their careers (honestly it's probably Karlsson, Yashin and Tim by a mile over the others, Spezza included).
Really dismissing Havlat there, who I'd up put with the other 3 players you mentioned in terms of skill. He was putting up points while playing on the third line and doing it in a much lower scoring time for the league. Havlat was more chippy than physical but he was also playing in a much more physical league where guys like Pronger could two hand you with impunity.
Havlat is the forward that most reminds me of Tim. The speed, agility and playmaking are very reminiscent. Injuries really saw him decline quicker than he should have.
Assen na yo!
Though if Ottawa ever plays the Leafs in the playoffs I sure hope Timmy has a better showing than Havlat who from what I recall was invisible in all 3 series against them.Really dismissing Havlat there, who I'd up put with the other 3 players you mentioned in terms of skill. Havlat is definitely the best comparison stylistically. Stutzle just plays center and is better. Havlat had jam in his game too, the electrifying speed and skill is similar. Hossa was way heavier and played a power game.Really dismissing Havlat there, who I'd up put with the other 3 players you mentioned in terms of skill. I didn't circle the names BTW - this was used as evidence that Hughes is "several tiers" and "70+ players ahead of Stutzle."
What's more stupid than that is seeing Brady being a tier above Stutzle
Looks like the 2nd line center, is in fact the first line one.... Norris with Batherson should form a very nice 2nd line next season
For me the center ice spine that is emerging must be protected at all cost,s....I foresee a awesome PK duo and potential shut down tandem of Grieg and Pinto on that 3rd line,With Stu playing wing at times to stack a PP unitHard for Norris to keep up with Stutzle's surge this season but if he can rebound physically, it's a nice tandem to have.

I think he plays with g and brinksie instead.Looks like the 2nd line center, is in fact the first line one.... Norris with Batherson should form a very nice 2nd line next season
Well, I'd say he has a better case than either DeBrincat or Chabot.
Any Sens fan would make you believe that we have literally 8 Superstars/All star caliber player
While not bringing close to the amount of physicality or pk abilities. I think Hughes is more talented, from a pure skill perspective maybe only Mcdavid is better. Kucherov is probably pretty on par. But he keeps getting hurt and looks to be built like a tiny man. I wonder how he holds up in a playoff run too.Stutzle will be there. Takes time for the analysis to catch up with a player like Stutzle who is progressing exponentially.
He is on par with Hughes last season. This year Hughes has 12 more points in 1 more game.
No, not really.
I know you dislike Tkachuk but he is still leading the team in scoring.
That doesn’t make him an all star or a superstar but it does make him better than a DeBrincat with faulty aim and a Chabot whose brain doesn’t work half the time.
No need to rant at me with your glorified sense of self-importance.
This is a team at the bottom of the standings for a reason.
I’d still like to see what this team could do with a different coach.
I was actually pointing towards Debrincat and Chabot too, and I agree with your assessment with both
I don't dislike Tkachuk or anyone on this team. What I dislike is their play and where they are in their standing.
What you call disliking a player, I call it critiquing on their performances from someone who have been a life long supporter of this team.
I do think Tkachuk is overrated, but again I feel the same with Norris and half this roster, including Chabot now. Use to really like Batherson, but watching his 5on5 play, I wouldn't even get mad if we trade him for bag of pucks. Tkachuk and Debrincat 5on5 play is pretty bad, maybe not as atrocious as Batherson (but that's only because he has set the bar to high LOL). Norris on the other hand, is a great 2 way 5on5 player, but offensively he lacks creativity that a #1 Center should have
You have to understand if you are sitting pretty close to the basement, then it is very hard to say much good things about a Team and it's main players. I mean we all take a lot of time crapping on players like Gambrell and Joseph to divert attention away from our "superstars"
So many former Sens on that list! Karlsson, Stone, Ziba... At least we got plenty of value back for Karlsson. For anyone who is interested in a little comedy:

I would not trade Stutzle for Hughes. Up to their D + 3 Stutzle has been superior in production and all other facets of the game. I dont think he makes the ppg jump that Hughes did this year but for the total package i take the german.
Hughes just has the Gaudreau/Marner thin build, small man syndrome to me and I question if he'll be able to do it in the playoffsI agree, Hughes is a great scorer, but I think Timmy will be the superior player in their primes.
Will take some time for media to realize how good Stutzle is.
I think he will take another massive step next season with more strength and experience.

Jimmy on the other hand is probably an average sized NHL player with a well above average competitiveness to him.
