nice pop song with good instrumental, emotional vocal and lyrics

Radiohead(Smile) released their new album

great music writing as always

Code orange released one of the best metal albums in previous year. Dynamic, with some references to 2000's. I dont think that this album is likable for regular metal head - pretty pop harmonies, but still sound fresh and nostalgic(for 30-40 yo mostly) in the same time.

I am sick as a damn dog. Not Covid, but it's kicking my butt. The strange part is, and this is literally the case every single time I'm sick, I get even more of an appetite. I want odd things that I'd otherwise never eat like pizza hut pizza or Jimmy Deal breakfast biscuits, and a lot of it. Is this, like, really strange?

I'd go just for Modest Mouse.

i've told my old band members and other friends...seeing how many tickets to get.

loved playing in the old band ....i could say we were influenced by the mouse, devo, shadowy men on a shadowy planet, joy division, flaming lips... good times indeed

I loved Devo back in the day. They were the weirdest and fun. I still love it when I see Mithersbaugh has done the music for a show or movie. Rugrats? How does that happen? She’s just a girl you want. When I was in junior high I saw them on SNL. Those creepy masks the jumpsuits the bizarre rendition of Satisfaction so great.

it was amazing.

if you dont watch it all.... watch the first one on this 'are we not men'....the heavy...but all is great with devo.

jocko homo became a ministry song

and of course, one of the greatest songs...... the band kicks the shit out this...(shitty sound but you can still hear the biting bass)...this is hardcore old school.

append: i hope your 'lawyery' papers don't contain such typos as "Mithersbaugh" you f***in mothersbaugh!

that radiohead sounds amazing on the studio speakers... i'm getting back to drumming and usually just freeform jazz bullshit that real jazz purists would probably shit on but it's a laugh and a mockery and tribute all at the same time.

so...the drumming in that song makes sense to me

May be you will like some modern near punk stuff

I dont really understand nuances of genre, its sounds poppy and recorded very well, may be you like more rough but straight stuff.

From the old stuff Im revisiting Caravan and they made great songs.

From the new stuff I believe some Pink Floyd fans could really like this record

finally responding properly

that genesis tune... i swear i can hear some wesley willis in there...the recording sounds good

That last video was too harsh for me. The middle one was fun to listen to.

this is both harsh and funny. damn the pc police. muzzle the PMRC instead.

if those morons still even exist. (they don't)

Several years back they had the entire Tipper Gore/Jello Biafra segment on Oprah up on YouTube. They seem to have since taken it down. What a bummer. I’m really in the mood to watch it again.

animals deserves more recognition

I’ve heard it numerous times in car rides to and from games and tournaments. There are parts of it I like and parts of it that I think are ok. It’s definitely idiosyncratic for Waters although Gilmour’s guitar is always fantastic. Waters whiffed hard when he couldn’t wrap his brain around needing Gilmour.

Endless River has one good track on it. The rest is just noodling. Division Bell is that pricey? That’s nuts.

record prices are nuts these days... reissues of classic albums go for 45-50... and used about almost the same... i've seen fleetwood mac rumours for 40 bucks....ya..insane

glad i got most of my collection from thrift shops for like a buck a piece .....even the ones i got from record shops way back i wasn't paying more 10 bucks or so..

found endless river on youtube... have it on now.

edit: well, that's done... i wont be going out of my to try and buy it

Their drumming is awesome. They know what they are doing and when. Its not like they are overplaying or showing off.
Im jealous you can drumming. Thats was my favorite instrument but I didn't have an opportunity for a regular study and play in my younger years.

I really hate digital music...

Well I miss going through a record sleeve or a cassette cover...I really like the tangible aspect of getting new music when I was younger... downloads are so stooppid
I admit, I listen to it. Digital music.

But only out of convenience. Most of my CD's are old and in shitty shape. The CD player in my Rav4 is spotty at best and I do have bluetooth, so I can play stuff off Apple Music onto my stereo while driving.

Oh yeah.... probably 100% of the music I listen to today is digital. XM radio, YouTube music, streaming TV stations music and my own personal collection of files is all I listen to these days...

But I do miss going to a "record store" thumbing through the albums and bringing them home and reading the liners.

I can't imagine not experiencing that as a kid...I think they are being cheated

i too loved going to shops

kids today will never get that experience...it's a touch the screen and magically something is downloaded world to them....or just get spotify or whatever and everything is at your fingertips.

my first email account (still have it) was 1994...so i had already lived with no internet for 19 years of my life...

i've lived in 'both eras' ....i feel for people that never got to experience life without a computer in your hand all day.

without it THEY WOULD BE f***ED and wouldnt know how to function....

as for the LP thing....as i mentioned above it's getting near impossible to buy vinyl at today's prices....

My two brothers who are about 10 years older than me amassed a ton of LPs it's insane. They were into a lot of prog stuff and weird shit, old Genesis and Gabriel, Gentle Giant, King Krimson, Zappa, Jethro Tull but they had all the normal stuff like Zep, Who and Floyd etc. I mean they have everything, anything you can think from the 70's-80's, Abba, Asia, Herbie Hancock, Bob and Doug McKenzie's Christsmas album, all sorts of comics, jazz, classical, the most random stuff.

My one brother still has all his 8 tracks and the unit, he used to rock Sabbath on his 8 track in his 69 Mach 1 Mustang in high school in the late 70's, he was my idol haha.

The place they and I used to go to as a kid is still there and still sells vinyl, Music Merchant in Westwood, they've somehow stayed the same over all these years.

I don't really consider myself an audiophile but I think the best digital by far are WAV files from CD's, it's waaaay better than anything else. MP3's are really compressed and you can definitely tell the difference. Sirius XM or whatever they are now sounds sooooooo f***ing terrible. The original XM was good but since the merger they cram a million stations through a small pipe. The only way to do that is to compress the shit out of the signal, it's really, really bad.

Tull was pretty normal. Crimson was a bit out there but Gabriel and Genesis were played on the radio at times even if not in regular rotation. Same with Zappa.
