I can't lift my arm above my head all of a sudden. The pain is rough and it's waking me during the night for the last couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure it's my rotator cuff... It's been torn for a while.

I have been putting off shoulder surgery for years and I think it's finally time.

Consultation on the 28th. So if I disappear for a while, it's not for fun reasons.

Been hearing this song constantly in my head for the past month or so. Not that I would consider that a bad thing but something else could be nice for a change. Simple Things is a great album.

I saw a tribute band late last year playing their biggest guitar songs and hits and despite the poor acoustics of the place, that was f***ing awesome. Those middle aged guys on guitar with beer bellys absolutely nailed it. Was a free gig too (in celebration of Young's birthday).

Good luck. Does insurance cover it?

Yes insurance covers it, I'll probably have a small out of pocket portion if I need surgery but nothing significant.

I am still on my previous employers insurance plan even though I don't work for them. As a benefit, after a certain amount of years service + age you're allowed to keep it even if you are let go.

Yeah get that checked out @JimEIV. I f***ed up my shoulder last year surfing, got absolutely smoked by huge closeout wave, the whole lip broke right across my shoulders while I had my arms out extended trying to duck dive under it. It bothered me a little bit after and was fine all summer until December after I stopped surfing. The last two months have been extremely painful and now I can barely move it, I have a very limited range of motion and lots of pain, especially at night.

I thought I tore my labrum but I just went last week and the doc said I have a frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis). It's basically a sac that forms around the joint that turns into scar tissue. He thinks I can rehab it but it's going to take a while, lots of stretching and treatment to break up the scar tissue to get the range of motion back but holy shit it's painful, I'm starting rehab next week.

Your description of the pain sounds very similar to what I am experiencing.

Good luck with your recovery, I hope you heal well.

You have to be dedicated to get to that level of granularity with your fishing.
Nah, you just go during high percentage times for bugs hatching...and wait, and wait and wait .

It gets to the point where you only want to catch a fish that you see eat the fly

Visual fishing or sight fishing is the thing that makes you forget about everything else. At least it does me...and a lot of others

Fishing in general does that for me. It really doesn't matter what kind of fishing it is.

But top water fishing, whether fly or otherwise, is special.

that's great to have a hobby like that. You can find peace and happiness. Driving some of my cars was like that for me at times but I don't have a pure sports car right now so I miss that.

Maraschino is what most places use. It's perfectly fine. Drop it in the bottom of the glass.

In a shaker with ice - 2 oz of Rye - 1 oz sweet vermouth and a quick pop or two of the bitters. Shake well - strain the ice into the glass with the cherry. Good luck!

I usually go 3:2 on the bourbon to vermouth ratio, but I like it a little sweeter and less bourbon forward. Go according to your preference, there's no wrong answer.

For @JimEIV
Iron Maiden is popular among biologists and taxonomists, so they just named a new lizard species after frontman Bruce Dickinson
